Actually no, most gacha games have tht, i like tht Vertin is her own character with her own personality and isn't just a self insert for the players. One of the main reasons why I love Kiana as the mc in HI3 compared to the traveler in genshin.

Just like how the Captain is in Honkai Impact with Kiana. Though there are side event that would acknowledge your existence, the main story doesn't involve you.

The captain has been written out of main canon actually, the captainverse events are in bubble universes seperate from the main one, so the way this game treats vertin is similar to kiana

Personally i would rather play as a character who's interesting has personality and their past is waiting to be revealed as we play through the game. I wasn't a big fan of the whole captainverse schtick in hi3 tbh, idk it feels weird having characters fawn over me (maybe thts why i cant enjoy otome/dating sim games). So for me, im happy tht we get to play as Vertin.

The story is this time is going backwards every storm there is the bad guys manus vindicatae wants to overthrow the foundation they found out how to force a storm so they can become the hero’s and gain control that way now chapter 3 is the origin story for vertin the main character and I haven’t got to chapter 4 yet it takes some reading between the line but the overall is a fight between the foundation and manus vindictae

@@spiderdude2099 humans 100% get sifted out. Arcanist on the other hand can only prevent being sifted out if they r in a building that is resistant to the storm. Vertin’s suitcase is storm resistant for example.

@@spiderdude2099 Sifted out is like the Thanos Snap. They just vanish. So far the only places that's able to prevent that from happening are the Foundation (in their different branches all over the world), The Manus Vendictae HQ (wherever that is), AND Vertin's Suitcase. And some parts of the story are answered or explained thoroughly in the following chapter(s). Disclaimer: I'm not spoiling, call it a foreshadow. Schneider's part on the reason why she joined MV instead of the Foundation, are explained in the later chapter(s). As for being able to understand more depth of the story seems like the devs want you to dig it out yourself. From those hidden documents on the map. The dialogues. It adds up to the puzzle of unraveling the bigger picture of the story.

As in a child from a muggle and pure arcanist?” It feels like umbrella academy mixed with fantastic beast and xmen cos we’re like rejects of the society despite having awesome abilities and we can travel through time.
