Looks delicious! I'm planning on embracing my Kongolese side as my great grandfather was a mixed African American who came to England in 1944. My grandma is 23% African with 12% of that being from the Kongo region. I am 5% African with 2% of that being from the Kongo region so I have been wondering how I could embrace that small part of me for a while.. As I am a foodie this will definitely be a good way to embrace it. Thank you for the video, again it looks amazing!

You’re a great, authentic cook. Really love this. You cook like a true African, love to see it. This just took be back to my primary school days when my friends family used to cook and feed my family and I. Just had a sudden craving for Congolese food, wanted a switch from Nigerian food. Mmmm, the end result looks like Haitian chicken with sauce! I'm researching Congolese food, as I found out recently that a large part of my DNA is Congolese. I'm also part Nigerian! 😊 So far, so good - I like everything I watched! I was so excited when you called the peanut butter "mamba", (on another video) as this is what we still call it in Haiti! Is this the actual Congolese word for it?
@africaine48895 жыл бұрын
It's muamba.

@@mizzpoetrics More specifically muamba/mwamba nguba (nguba is peanuts/groundnuts) in the case of cooking paste made from peanuts, as muamba/mwamba can also be made from boiled and pounded ripe palm nuts

Sis, please be careful with how much Maggi Cube you use in your food. It made of MSG (monosodium glutamate), which is a food enhancer. We should really use it in moderation as it can be really bad for us (high blood pressure and weaken our bones). I know we've been using this ingredients for a long time but it always good to be safe. Overall, I love you channel. Thank you for sharing. Bisou!

A maggie cube is just chicken bouillon or dry chicken broth. You can by the cubes or just jar of the seasonings. Just so you know almost everything is linked to cancer; I really don’t understand why everyone is getting riled up about it. As long your food is t salty is fine and yours definitely looks healthy and delicious.
@kyriagillissen4085 жыл бұрын
mmmmh some food product enhance and speed up the cancer cell proliferation, and inflammation (wich is the genesis of all disease) maggie cube is one of them, naturally grown food are less likely to cause that. Maggie is not jsut chicken brothe read the ingredients, anything you can recognize shouldnt be put in your body

First of all I'd like to congratulate you. You're a great cook just by seeing how you are putting spices together but one thing I'd like to advice you is to use less Maggi cubes it's not good for your health. Researchers said it can cause breast cancer so be careful.
@letsCOOKwithELLE7 жыл бұрын
Michaela Bilolo - Thank you for your comment and I appreciate your concern. I don't use a lot of it in all my meals but I like to add just a bit more in some of my dishes. However moving forward I am looking to collaborate some spices in order to have a similar taste as maggie cubes. This way it can give the dish a good balance when adding minimal cubes.
