The tracks on your dozer have a distinct sound. It would be hard to mistake it for a CAT, Deere, or another brand. When your going forward it sounds like a locomotive with the tracks and engine together. When you're backing up, it's all track sound.

In this case, Chris was called in before a mess was made. Very wise of the homeowner. I have a small Case tractor and it takes a lot of time to develop the experience so you know what you are doing. Hiring a pro to do some of the work is almost always worth the time and the money.

So, here I am in my dozer, scared to scrape too much dirt because I don't want to clear all the topsoil. Meanwhile, Chris is making huge mounds of dirt. I'm now going to get a rake attachment, and after raking, I'm thin scraping the top like Chris. I'm not afraid anymore. 😆😆

Equipment is pretty much the same as pickups. People have their brand preferences or dislikes and that's that. Not much will change many of them.

The only time it would matter is if you are talking about a crooked dealer who is cooking the books. (They exist; I worked as an inventory auditor for a few years.)

Just curious but there seems to be a lot of multigenerational properties in that area just based on the type of projects we have seen. Parents house will go there, kids house over there, etc. Is that common in the Carolinas? Up in PA I don’t hear of it much but perhaps I am just out of the loop. edit: to clarify multigenerational proprieties with different houses, I am accustomed to seeing multiple generation in a single house.

In a situation like this with the land already being so flat, I am curious if you considered using a tractor with landscape rake and box leveler. That dozer can push/pull with far more power than most tractors near it's footprint, but is all that power really needed when the land is so flat? That said I am NOT a dozer operator, just curious, not criticizing.

Do you think there is a market for a something like a pan scraper that has a leading pickup like a root rake / rock picker, followed by a pulverized / blending stage that mixes the pulverized material with soil and then redepodits it as desired?

These kinds of jobs could be double edges swords. Nice to come do a simple job, but at the same time could turn into a can of worms. I have a PTO rock rake that would've done a nice job with all those little roots that fit through the rake on the dozer.
