I remember when we would not have dreamed of loading out of a stockpile with a hoe. That would have been a loader job. Interesting how much things have changed. Enjoy the vids as always. A good operator is always fun to watch.

Yeah it's same with backhoe loaders hardly anybody wants them now, they are getting cheaper to buy used. it's mostly mini diggers and 5 ton +, in lots of places now. but for 90% of what i do with my backhoe loader the 360 style machine is useless.

Takes a lot of skill to operate the Volvo excavators as smooth as that, as they are very sharp, quick and responsive to small movements on the sticks.
@paulthesoundguy17 жыл бұрын
If they used a wheel loader to load the trucks, We wouldn't have received the valuable lesson on how to use an excavator correctly. Such a demonstration is so rarely seen by today's operators. I am blessed and fortunate!

I see it like this, There is the way Chris does it, the way I might do it, and the way you might do the job, all 3 might be slightly different ways. But as long as it gets done in good time as a paid job, how don't really matter . The ones that have no clue other than simulator games, better spend more time on them, and keep quiet. Or go get some real experience and find out operating equipment or farmings not as easy as they think sitting in their arm chairs. There's a sim video here on tube of a guy putting a backhoe loader up on a building flat roof, I'd bet he thinks he can do it for real on a machine that easy L.O.L !.
@cameronsmith46577 жыл бұрын

@johnnythediggerman6847 жыл бұрын

@janvandenbos70857 жыл бұрын

The quad axle trucks are pretty cool. Up here, we are only allowed tri-axle straight trucks. We can run more axles, but they would have to be trailer dumps.

letsdig18 so you sub out hauling to other trucking companies? im guessing a friend helps you move your bigger excavators around also? and in your opinion, im looking into getting my Class A in a few years if i ever do local hauling which tranmission would be better 6 speed automatic or 10 speed manual?
@tractormanmike18307 жыл бұрын
My opinion would be a 13 or 18 speed. A 10 will get the job done but the higher gears are spaced out quite a bit, the extra gears really help when pulling heavy loads.I've never driven an auto to know how they pull a load. Good luck on your class a, are you going to school or going through a third party tester
@shawnorr3097 жыл бұрын

Make sure you test on a stick. If you test on an auto you legally can't drive a stick until you re-test on one.

Why moving to other side of the pile rather than directly loading the truck?
@connorhall33127 жыл бұрын
Tools & Timber so when the truck arrives you have the shortest distance from pile to truck and while the trucks are gone transfer as much dirt as possible to the smallest distance
@toolstimber59537 жыл бұрын
Connor Hall , yes got that but still wonder whether it is worth it due to more fuel consumed? The excavator engine runs all the time and if it idles during low load, that might save some fuel, but on the other hand if you are paid by the result, that might change the picture
@phillipsaunders80627 жыл бұрын
Tools & Timber them trucks are getting paid by the hr, probably $75-100 per hour plus fuel

TRUTH! now watch my s#%&--- just click my name lol

@letsdig187 жыл бұрын

loaders that big are in mines. cost too much for how little you use them. Plus why rent a machine for such a small pile
@Ericbjohnston51507 жыл бұрын
medium size loaders come with these large buckets as well as large and mining loaders, ie Cat 950 M. Or get a 938M with 6.5 yard bucket. Still improves load times.

you know you could load the truck faster if you loaded the dirt next to the truck instead of doing a 180 swing almost every time..lol
