The year is 2033. The news has played the 473rd consecutive "Geriatric 27: Oh Thank Heaven" trailer instead of the ongoing nuclear war over advertising rights. You try to go to sleep, but the incessant knocking of the door to door movie promoters keeps you awake until 2:00 am, when the repurposed air raid sirens blast out the same teaser soundbites that you've heard thousands of times by now, just like they do every hour. You shove your head into your pillow and finally manage to rest. The instant your eyes close, you receive crystal clear dreams of a 90-year-old man pretending to be stabbed in a fire. You decide to preorder 19 tickets for release day and dozens more for the following week. There is no escape.

That says a lot of society really, people living in a consumerism society, where there's nothing to do except consuming junks and unwatchable garbage. Until the point that despite so many better movies exists out there, our attention span is so short we're left to consume over-hyped junk in fear of FOMO cause other people are doing the same. Then the unwatchable junk buys out every other good industry to produce the same junk that we consume on a day to day basis. Ironically, despite good movies exist, human prefers to consume junks simply because it takes shorter amount of time for gratification to kick in, like draugs. If the gratification is lost, we just move on to the next movie like how we consume tiktok vids.

@@MarcoGruber The USA has about 331 million people and big studios with massive marketing budgets. That’s why movies and other entertainment make a ton of money there - it’s mainly about having a huge audience and strong promotion. Switzerland, on the other hand, has only around 8 million people, so it's tougher to make big bucks. If you want to go international, you have to spend a lot on marketing, and it’s even more expensive if people aren’t familiar with the studio, actors, or culture. People usually stick with what they know. American culture is like a franchise that has spread worldwide, and they’ve been investing in propagating it for a long time. I like that the first 24 minutes of this video is basically just figuring out the Blumhouse method. Dirt cheap actors on dirt cheap sets pumping out films as fast and cheap as possible, making profit because it's hard not to when something is so cheap to make.

@testchannel81515 ай бұрын
@@scottl.1568 He did, he was in the Script and Continuity department for almost all of the movies he worked on. Infamous examples of the movies he worked on are Deus Ex Machina (2010), Friends and Lovers (2010), and the Lamp (2010), which was infamously reviewed by Danny Gonzalez.

Anyone remember an older game called "The Movies"? 2005 ish? Glad to see something spiritually similar. The Movies is on abandonware, but it's a process to get it working right.... Also, I absolutely love how Josh can play a game absolutely incorrectly and make absurd amounts of money.

I kind of missed Lionhead. To think back, The Movies was kind of revolutionary to other simulation games (The Sims 2 era). And sadly, this game is like an update patch to The Movies 🤷🏽 P/S: Black & White is legendary.

Here's a funny thing: i came back to the video to kinda rewatch it, but since i already did, there was a 5 min "checkpoint" and whilst i was 10seconding back i zoned out,and turns out if you repeatedly press the key, the intro is no longer "Hey there, it's Josh" but "He he he e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e" and it can go for quite a while
