I was born and bred in Pontllanfraith - Blackwood was my "market town" where I played football for Blackwood Methodist Youth Club.

I could afford some of those houses this week. If only Wales would let me in. 😁

The prices do vary across Wales & they're cheaper in the valleys... We'll complain to the First Minister and tell him to let you in 😄 Thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼🐼

Lovely town. I love all the sculptures and that they are full of meaning to the town. I know artists usually do put thought into the form and function of their work and installations. How they fit into the surroundings and their purpose. I like the use of metal and how this material is so connected to the people who brought coal out of the ground and in turn ran the factories and foundries to make steel. Thanks again for sharing another wonderful place in Wales. I cannot wait to come. Hopefully in the next half decade, I'll get to see all these beautiful places for myself. Cheers Phil and Caroline, have an excellent week filled with all kinds of adventures at home or out.

What a pleasant place to live, nothwithstanding that noisy road, but a green sanctuary was close at hand and those birds singing away in the background were heartwarming to hear. As was your excellent information, as always Phil. Blackwood was founded by a man who really knew how to make things happen and bring about change. So it's good to see that it's flourishing! Thanks both for a really interesting trip!

When and why was the railroad taken of the main street of town?
@LetsgowithTheJohnsons Жыл бұрын
In 1865 the Tramway down by the river was upgraded to a railway which introduced the passenger service in 1876, allowing the town to develop. Thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼🐼

I keep reading that the railway between Ystrad Mynach and Blackwood could be reinstated as part of the upcoming South Wales Metro; and so it could be tram trains. Any comments or updates, anyone?
