@@aerondafydd132 Europe has more castles per square mile than any other continent, so by having the the most castles per square mile in Europe, Wales - by default - has the most castles per square mile in the world. Other countries can make similar claims by other metrics - for example Germany has more castles total than any other country in the world and Czechia has more castles per capita than any other country in the world. Notice how they're both in Europe, again.

Too many paedos. I live in Wales (for 30 years) and the authorities are blocking a huge investigation. The police told me that too many families are involved so nothing will ever be done about it. And you are proud of that. Welsh people poisoned my wife in 2013 she now has a debilitating neurological condition. At the same time they poisoned another local mother to keep their secret safe. When I reported this to the Police known officers then passed my info to the child abuse group. That was five years ago. We still get our vehicle tampered with and have received many death threats. If you are so passionate about your country then you need to sort out the corruption within authority. Yesterday like. We don't really leave the house any more. The offenders are free to continue their child abuse. Diolch for your help. Horrible place.

In my home country it's almost impossible to find roads so tiny, maybe if you are inside a farm, the owner might have such tiny roads, maybe. Considering some farmers have farms there can easily go over 150,000 hectares...Wales itself is about 1/5th the size of my homestate out of 26, so Is England...the first shocking thing I found when I came to the UK the first time is how small things are and how big... everything seems huge with so much to see but at that point I just noticed how big my home country is and how small the UK is.

We say hello to each other when we walk down the street. If you ask us we’ll help you and we’ll always have a friend who can help you further down the road ! I live outside Cardiff and Brecon is just up the A470 and it truly is beautiful. I love Snowdonia, Betwys Y Coed is one of my favourite places to visit up there. If you like walking, cycling, motorbike riding or horseback riding then Wales is an excellent place to visit...

Can I add that, because of it's rich history, there are museums of all shapes and sizes, offering a variety of experiences, as well as galleries showcasing the work of local artists and crafts people. It is also a great place for wildlife, especially with a coastline that wrapping around three sides of Wales and boat trips out to islands, like Skomer (check out the "sea parrots"!😂). That sense of being laidback and unhurried is what I grew up calling "being on Welsh time". Forget posting selfies on instagram and face book, bring a notebook, a sketchbook, paints or pencils (or else take your time in using your camera) and create meaningful memories instead. Oh, and "coracles"! Definitely a sight worth seeing!

@@taffyducks544 Don't be a plum all your life. In a literal sense there are just as many criminals in Wales as there are in any other country. Then of course there was WW1 and WW2 and Welsh people did plenty of defending, fighting, invading and stealing in that along with the English. I think what you mean is that Wales hasn't invaded or stole off anyone else. And I think what you really mean is that Wales has been invaded by England but England hasn't been invaded by Wales. Well sure, that's true but at the same time Wales has never been the defender of England and England has been the defender of Wales so it's not really so cut and dry. England has been invaded countless times as well as invading countless nations. We should probably stop sulking about millennium old history, don't you think? A salient point to think about is that if 500 to 1,000 years ago Wales had been the dominant country in Britain you better believe it would have been doing all the invading and conquering England did. At that time in history people wanted to run the world.

@@ruk2023-- I agree, for the most part, and that would be true if the invasion of Wales actually ended. In the medieval period, Wales and England worked together much as they did today, but the English governments kept taking advantage of Wales. The whole reason for the Owain Glyndwr uprising wasn't down to just hatred of the English. It was because Welsh lands were being handed over to the English, and the Welsh had no legal recourse as all the courts sided with the English. Today, the UK takes many Welsh resources for very little benefit back to Wales, for example, with regard to power generation and water. Being part of the UK is keeping Wales as one of the poorest nations in Europe. I hear quite a few Welsh people saying that they "hate the English", but I would bet that most of them couldn't actually tell you why, other than a vague "well, they are complete tw*ts" response. There is no reason for the Welsh people to hate the English people, but there is a reason for us to be displeased with our current situation within the UK.

They're letters, not vowels. Vowels are sounds, they have nothing to do with letters. On that note, English has, by far, more vowels than Welsh. English is notable for having a ridiculous amount of vowels. However, in Welsh the letter I represents the consonant sound [j] as well as vowel sounds like [i] and [ɪ], the same as the letter Y does in English. W can also represent a vowel sound in both languages, the only difference is that it has to be part of a falling diphthong in English (i.e. 'throw', 'cow', 'sew') but can be a vowel by itself in Welsh (i.e. 'cwrw'). Letters are letters, consonants and vowels are sounds, not letters. Language has nothing to do with writing.

The rail element, from anywhere in the UK to either Holyhead or Fishguard, is next to nothing (something like £10 each way on top of what the ferry fare would be, depending on the exact station). Fantastic. Moved to Wales from the New Forest in 2013 (fabulous place). Wales is like a huge New Forest only its got hills and much much better views. Its got far more interesting coastlines as well. Been kicking myself ever since, oh why on earth didn't I move here 30 years earlier. Recommended: If you like coastline and walking, take a few days and walk the Gower peninsula. Spring early summer is probably the best time. Four days if you like move fast and if you amble take 7-10 days. There are plenty of guest houses around the coast.

And yes we do get a lot of rain . the best time to come here is late August early September , but do bring your mac ! Sometimes after say two or three days rain . When the sun does comes out , the green is so bright it hearts your eyes . You will need a car to get about , get one with a SatNav (GPS ) . Don't worry about driving up the side roads . But drive slow around corners , you never know who or what you will met . There is always some place for you or the other car to pull in so you can pass. These roads were never meant for cars , they have been in use for hundreds of years . Some over a thousand .

That because the Welsh are generally down to earth and don't praise themselves, unlike another nation I can think of. You only have to look on history of famous Welsh people and the way they approached their achievements....often stating let other people judge them and history will decide if they are well known. Which for some has gone against them, such as George Everest, Alfred Russell Wallace, George Henry Thomas, David Thompson a.k.a David Ap Thomas, Sir Henry Morgan, Joshua Humphreys, etc.
