Hi Sarah. I love your ideas for painting with watercolor! Your suggestion for using the side of your paper is awesome. I wanted to say that you actually did follow the strategy for odd numbers being pleasing in a composition. You had two wires with 5 birds on each.

You guys are the best - I often watch and re-watch your tutorials because you guys are just amazing humans and I like to hear you talk - apart from the very cool tutorials! Thank you for the Jurassic Park fun today, made me smile for the first time in a while. (Also I totally pictured a chicken sitting on that wire and I hope some people try and paint that :D )
@LetsMakeArt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your extremely kind compliments! We feel so lucky that we get to paint alongside you. We love that you envisioned a chicken sitting on wire. That would be a really fun painting to try out. If you do bring that to life, let us know how it turns out.

Ok, YOU GUYS ARE A-MAZING!! I’m laughing out loud, cracking up all while learning excellent techniques. Both the techniques and delightful “OMG-I-LOVE-THEM-&-would totally hang out with them!” remain long after the video is over. My process - I watch the video first so I know what to expect then go back and paint along with the video. You guys are such a gift 💝 and a whole lotta Santa “Ho Ho” ‘s!!! 😂💃🏻

Dawn your kind comment totally made our day. We LOVE that we get to paint along with you and that you walk away from the experience happy! Thank you for loving and supporting our small business. What painting is next on your to do list to work on?

@@LetsMakeArt Well, funny you should ask. Ah-chem…😂 I had followed your (Sarah) advice of letting the painting guide you. You can tell I was DEFINITELY freed to have fun because I began painting birds “wing around each other” (I mean really?! THEY’RE BLACK SILHOUETTES! 🤣), then went with a supportive Winter Paralympic theme. Yup. Four card stamped swinging lines up top for the cheering audience, including a family of six. Then towards the bottom have two bolder lines with Olympic and Paralympic birds all singing! Yup. One’s doing an aerial twist and finally one that turned out looking like the HUGE black Angry Bird character. Other than that I just finished painting a camomile flower. I don’t need to settle down. No. I’m good. 🤪

Could you have put plastic wrap over this while it was wet... let it dry and end up with some cool textures? Great job Sarah..always enjoy your videos. I subscribed because of your videos and i'm new to watercolor.

Sounds like I am the exception to the rule. I’ve used Holbein Soft Tape four times since buying it in my last order and it tore my paper 3 of those 4 times. Blue painters tape doesn’t tear nearly as much for me.

Dang it. But, at least you found what works best for you. We totally think when you find what works best for you, you gotta hold true to it. Don't you think?

Lol, this reminds me of when I was is California for my daughter's wedding. I had a migraine so I went to the hotel to rest. Unbeknownst to me they were remodeling the room nextdoor. So Im in the dark trying to sleep and that noise happens. I was getting frustrated so I picked up my phone to record it. So theres a video of my explaing my problem. I said: "so Im trying to rest and the people nextdoor are screwing (at that moment the noise happens again)". Idkh but it got erased. Enjoy.....
@sarahmalm96842 жыл бұрын
Wonder if you used Saran Wrap for texture that would lift less of the color so you could keep your darker color? (Oops, wrote that before reading the other comments or hearing her mention it .😂)
