This has been SO MUCH FUN to watch your experience of hiking Everest Base Camp. I recently went to Nepal in September to do the EBC trek with a group of my friends and I loved being able to watch your videos and see all of the places we trekked through as well. The day we went from Dingboche to Lobuche was AWESOME!! We got lucky with the weather and were able to see all of the incredible, snow-capped mountains all around us. And we made sure to visit the world's highest bakery in Lobuche. Thanks for helping me re-live some of my Nepal trip through your videos!

Thanks for your VLOG. I've watched a few other treks to EBC from other couples. I enjoyed the honesty/realism of your videos. Nicely edited and the accompanying music was great. Keep up the great work. I'll have to check out some of your other journeys.

@scotttea20482 жыл бұрын
Instead of taking two weeks to hike EBC I can see myself (at 62 years old) taking three or more weeks. I would hike fewer miles per day staying at more tea houses. I would have more off days. I would like to spend more time in the little villages mingling with the locals or trekkers and taking more of the short hikes during those off days. Do people do that. Any thoughts...
@LetsMeetAbroad2 жыл бұрын
Hm I didn't really see people doing it, but it sounds as a really good plan! Staying in these villages is really nice and there are enough people around. Can be a great experience 😃👍

More days taken to acclimatise is good idea. In addition to physical, mental strength is essential. Age is a number if you are healthy enough to do this I guess.
@karipintakivi91532 жыл бұрын
Age is (mostly) just a number. The last time I hiked in Khumbu I was almost twice as fast at this couple, 2:30h Phortse to Pangpoche as an example, not 4 hours. I was 64 at the time and have artificial hips on both sides. Of course you can also go slow if you want to, but you might be able to go as fast as others also depending on you acclimatisation ability mostly, not age so much.

Hiked this trek in august one year, probably about 10years ago. Saw 10 people all the time i was on the trail from lukla and back. Just seeing so many people on the trail here would do my head in. Like a traffic jam. Most night i was the only one in the tea houses, was great. A tea owner showed my a picture of lobuche in April, holy schmokes it was like a roadside cafe. Ive also been in December over xmas, this is the best time to go, freezing cold, very few people, unreal views and a double room with hot shower and electric blankets was 20 us dollars, not 200.
@LetsMeetAbroad2 жыл бұрын
Yep August is super low season. But we didn’t think that the crowds was a big problem. For days we walked all by ourselves

It stil amazes me that the base camp is allreday at such altitude that if you go there by helicopter and stay a few days you just die. The hike to the camp is very important for acclimazation.

Enjoyed the adventure. Really. In your place, I would have opted to movie-record the other person walking up and swap frequently, instead of having the camera on a tripod and having to walk back time and again. Music - piano, around 13 and 21 - what was that? Loved it.
@LetsMeetAbroad2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Thank you, we are glad that you enjoyed the video. yeah, that can be a great idea but I don't trust people with how they will keep the frame of the video if I give them to film haha The piano music is: Croci by Jesse Brown

Great videos- thanks for making the effort to show us your journey. I'm going in November. Do you have details of the tea houses you stayed in / would recommend/ costs and facilities etc? thx
@LetsMeetAbroad2 жыл бұрын
That's exciting! Hm the tea houses are pretty cheap! I believe we paid 500 rupees per night. They are all kind of the same, biggest difference is that some have private toilets and others shared! Mostly western toilets as well, but as you come higher the cleanliness becomes worse.. Food is everywhere amazing! There was just 1 tea house which was soo much better than the others, but that one will come in our upcoming video 😃

Nice weather!! Is it acceptable to camp on the EBC village? or do you saw any hiker bring the tent and camping there? cause I know that October is the peak season I'm afraid that the accomondation will be hard to find.

Hey, Adi's pack was about 14.5kgs and Myra's was about 13kgs. We could have done under 10kgs but we had to carry all our filming and photography gear with us.
