A couple tips for playing this game 1. Stay mobile. If enemies hear you gunshots they'll swarm you. 2. Cover each other. That's what the machinegunner is for. Covering fire goes a long way in Coop gameplay. 3. ALWAYS stay behind cover. Never expose yourself. You should almost never be standing upright in the combat zone. 4. Never go full auto unless you're using an MG to cover someone. Always use burst fire. 5. Drop arty. Lots of it. 6. Take cover from arty. 7. Coordinate. Use voice chat, text chat, radial menu, anything. Work together, or you'll die.

Also, my favorite loadout in any faction is the Assault class. Get the lightest primary weapon, don't use secondary, fill your slots with frags, use a heavy kit, and a radio kit.

You should get Insurgency then. Same devs and basically the same game except in a different setting. So Insurgency is just Proto-Day of Infamy, especially since they have the free workshop mods and map that puts you in World War II

But yeah same devs. They actually got hate from some of their fans since people were confused on whether New World Interactive was going to start charging money for the Day of Infamy mod or if they were just going to copy and paste it into a stand alone game. Also they are making a sequel for Insurgency called Insurgency: Sandstorm which is going to be the same game except in the Unreal Engine and will have a story campaign.

Automatic weapons during WW2 were not meant to be used in long range. The spread was too big for that so they were mostly used indoors and really close
