Ryan has just been on a roll lately with his commentary, some of the funniest back-and-forths I have heard in a while. But why is everyone complaining that they got 4-5 ads on this video? I only got the little pop-up at the beginning that you can close at any time, and that was it. :/ Did I just get lucky, or are people just saying whatever to stir the pot?

Guys, please. Get Adblock so when you DON'T want ads you can enable Adblock to block them, or if you want to directly support RT by watching the ads like I do, then you can disable it for the duration of the video. It's not hard to understand. I mean, 30 seconds - 1 minute ad's periodically throughout the hour long video isn't bad at all.

I do hate how ads just force itself on people, got to the internet because i got tired of paying more to watch ads on tv and now here they are fallowing us to youtube. Feels like so long ago when youtube first came around ad free along with various other webpages and one didn't just see progressive everywhere. Usually what I do is this, adblock when I'm watching. When I'm done, turn off, rewatch video. Ads can play in the background as i do other things, they still get my support through ads, i still get my ad free video everyone wins. XD

theendoftheshadow There's a difference between when it was "ad free" ( i use the quotations because it wasn't truly ad free, they were just small enough to survive off of having little blocks of ads to the side of the video) and now. Now it's more expensive and you still don't pay for it, you simply take 5-30 seconds of your time and support the site and content producer as well. For tv the ads pay for the specific station and then, through it, the programs similar to how youtube works, the ads keep the site able to pay its bills and the content producers get a share of the money. TV services however are cut out of these profits, instead they pay to be able to stream them and our payments make sure that they can afford to do so and make some profit as well, the ads pay for the stations, the actors, the writers, etc. your money pays for your provider to have access to those stations as well as perform maintenance.

Lewis from the Yogscast once said that big youtube channels don't care much about whether or not their viewers use adblock or not, because it generates less than one percent of their income anyways. Most income comes through merch and - with RT - through sponsorship on their website and ad-reads on some of their shows.

dan a powns nah i'm usually doing other stuff in the background like playing games and such and it would be a bit much to go back and skip about however many ads there are. Since when bored, videos like this are probably on the shorter end that i watch as i tend to go watch like 2 to 3 hour long videos. XD And well Brandon I've included more than youtube when i said ad free. I had internet since it was still fresh and new, before it became required to use to look for jobs etc. The main user at that time was my dad before a year or two went by and I got to use it when he was at work. I can't say anything about youtube because i didn't become active till like 2011 or 2012 idk. Even though my account says i joined in 2009 which was by phone which soon died so i didn't. XD anyway. The sites i used to go to, some i admit would see an ad or two in the top or side somewhere, but there was some i visited that didn't have ads at all. I think my memory is somewhat true. So it may be 50/50 so lets just say some sites were truly ad free when the net was still new while some did have ads. I'm pretty sure ads helped because the sites i remember not having them are either under new management, or gone. But yeah i'm pretty positive some sites were ad free at the start at least on my end, or in this case the sites i used to visit.
