fun fact about the Delorean and BTtF; due to regulations, the real Delorean's speedometer only went to like 80 mph. the prop department on the movie had to put in a different cluster or just a different background for the speedo to get it to show higher numbers.

It's not obvious that GTA actually has a Clutch-like mechanic but yeah, how they got this far without realising that full throttle isn't the right way is beyond me

I wonder how long till they realize quickly wiggling the tires back and forth gives your more traction too Since we're on the topic of advanced racing techniques in gta there's really only one or 2 more people don't know about You can short shift when you're almost about to change gears by letting off the throttle about 10% then quickly getting back on it the car will up shift early You can also do something called a mid-drive speed boost which works better or worse is certain cars Usually it's right before you go into 3rd gear you let off the throttle quickly hit the handbrake and get back on throttle and you'll see the rpms go crazy and you'll get a speed boost sometimes spinning the tires all the way into 4th gear (works best in the pariah) To do that in a 4 wheel drive car you need to press the regular brake and the hand brake at the same time as you let off the gas Broughy1322 here on KZbin has all this information on his channel He's tested the top speed and lap time of every single vehicle (planes helicopters boats everything) over the past 6 years

Ross Edwards well yea technically a little but that's why you do it super quick It's just Let off Brake Gas Almost as fast as one button push and the speed you get in most cars is way more than you lose The Pariah gets such a big boost you spin the wheels from so much extra speed you're in 4th gear by the time it stops Drag racers and regular high level racers use it all the time But it's a whole other thing to know which cars are good at it Like some cars have a weird thing with the programming that makes you lose speed when you do that but others get a huge boost And some Cars can do it in first gear or second gear Most youtubers call it the "double clutch" but broughy1322 who's a proper gta racer (well as proper as gta lets you be) he and that whole community call it the "mid-drive speed boost"

Most vehicles in the 1980's had a speedometer that stopped at 85 mph. That is what the engine was rated for. Speeds after that could cause the engine to fail. The DeLorean could go faster.

DeLorean topped out at 75 or 80 IIRC, the producers for Back to the Future had to use dummy speedometers and other cars to get those scenes since the DeLorean actually couldn't hit 88
