"Clobbered" or "clattered". The second one is a British-ism that is similar to clobbered I guess. Also Trevor was the only one who said anything right on that discussion which is that "clamber" is the verb form of "climb". Ryan was close in mentioning "clamor", but his example was "arose such a clamor", which is clearly from The Night Before Christmas, which says "arose such a clatter". That whole discussion almost gave me an aneurysm.
