Had you attempted to reinstall the lenses into the eyewear. Just curious if those ridges kept their integrity during both the silicone mold and resin curing process? I understand that the small eyewear screw openings were preserved really well!

I’m still curious about this, if someone would please chime in about this detail?

@@LacherEustache in this video, this person is able to re-install the lenses using the same process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXO3gGiBfZKcmtk I had the same question and am going to attempt this this weekend. hope this helps!

@@ErinPellegrino ahhh, this is perfect!! Thank you so much!! I actually did use the instructions and made my own eyewear! I got a little too fancy trying acrylic paint and it disrupted the ratio so the eyewear is kinda rubbery and very bendy... I will try again and watch the video recommendation you posted! Thank you so much!!! Oh, and if you record your own experience at any point, please share that link as well! Have fun!

Do you ever make toppers for pair eyeglasses? I love the clear resin with flowers design and wonder if you make others. Thanks

Did you have to install hardware for the glasses to be able to be put back together?

Where do you get lenses to put in the glasses? Also can you reuse the molds? Those glasses are really cute!

Where do you find the hinges to put back on the legs and Frame? Do they have to be glued on? Or did the hinges stay on in the mold?!! Which would be really shocking, lol.

That is the hinges on the black sunglasses and we just applied them to the new glasses😉

The hinges on the black glasses were black. The new ones are clear. Did I miss something?
@ideaoverload91011 ай бұрын
@@simpleme5719 I think they meant that they used the same screw. But it looks like the hinges stood on in the mold, and are also made of resin. I can’t see them being sturdy, but I guess it works. It’s definitely not the original black hinges, that’s for sure. At 3:40, you can see the hinge already copied on the new pair of you look close. Also if you notice. When she puts the screw in, it just slides in, not tight, no treads. So it’s not gonna last. Lol, your comment made me really pay attention to this video!

Hi, please rate whether your material is good, safe to wear all day? I think it will be very brittle, there is a high chance that it will break when dropped, right?

Hi, Don't worry! Our resin is nontoxic and the project you made will not break easily.☺

Will resin glasses be safe for the eyes? I wanted to make myself such, but I'm afraid of my eyesight.

It depends what resin you use. You want one that has good UV resistance and can handle high temps for when you are in the sun.

I need help. My silicone molds are tacky. The 2nd attempt I followed the instructions to a T and it is still tacky. The bottom (now the top) and sides are fine. The top, that was exposed to air (now the bottom) and the inside of the mold are both sticky. What is going on? I made sure I stirred for the full 5 minutes, and it was only one ounce, so not too much. The first time it was 2 ounces.

You don’t mention cure time for your clear silicone anywhere followed the 1to1 by weight and 30 minutes later it’s still liquid…

The silicone rubber needs 4-6 hours to cure, you could wait for a longer time.
