Suppose you have offs on Thurs,Fri,sat. You are talking to your friend on Tues (of the same week(sun to sat)). Wouldn't it be appropriate to say--"I have three offs this week"--.rather than using 'have had'.If your three offs have expired (say a Mon,Tue,Wed) and you are reporting on a friday, wouldn't it be appropriate then and only then to use "have had"??? HAVE is used for : 1.1st person,2nd person pronouns,(singular and plural ) and for 3rd person pronoun ( only plural). Ex. I have,we have, you have, They have. HAS is used for only third person pronoun (singular only ) and Proper Noun ( singular name) Ex. He has,she has ,It has and Suresh has.etc. HAD is past perfect tense word. I had my lunch just now.. ( present perfect tense.) Here ,HAD confirms that lunch was eaten ( perfect ). JUST NOW is present time of completed action. HAD can be used for all three persons, (singular and plural)

What about using "v1" after the "have had"? like in any sentence if I don't know the v3 form of a verb, then can we use "have had + v1". I guess "had + v1" will replace the v3 when we frame a sentence along with "have" like I have had take (v1) ... . Lets pretend that I don't know the v3 form of a verb "request" and I framed the sentence like "I have had request for a leave on Friday", Is this correct? and the regular one could be "I have requested for a leave on Saturday". In fact I don't want to use v3 in any sentence at all and few people may not aware of verb forms clearly. So can we frame any sentence this way (using have had + v1 and without v3). If it is correct then I will stop using v3 in all of my sentences. May be it does not make sense but please correct me if I am wrong? PLEASE HELP !!

There is no such rule which you're telling, it's very simple, there are 2 types of have, 1. Have as Auxiliary verb, 2. Have as proper verb so for possession the "Have" which is used is Auxiliary verb and it doesn't have the past participle or "ing" form so you can't use "having" and as far as "Have" which is verb is concerned, it does have a past participle which is "had" and ing form which is "having".

I have a confusion with your last tense. I have had four meeting this month. Is this have comes under possession? And if this is true so why I can not use have had with tense " how long have you been having guitar lessons" why not have had in this scenario. Isn't the both scenarios similar? Please enhlisgthen me on this thankyou
