1. Achilles heel- a bad habit or fault that can result into a failure 2. A queer fish- a strange person who is socially awkward 3.On the heels of - something that follow closely after something else 4. Asleep at the switch - failing to perform one’s duty 5. At sixes and sevens - to be lost and confused about something 6.Beat the air - efforts that will not give any desired result 7.Blue eyed boy - someone who is liked & admired by someone in authority 8. Bury the hatchet - end quarrel or settle differences to become friends again 9. Blue blood - someone who comes from socially a prominent family 10. By dint of - as a result of something 11. As a long time English teacher in America I would tell you that the idioms that you referenced in number 5, 6, 7, and 10 are rarely if ever used in America. You should consider more common idioms that would be more useful for an English language learner. There are so many more useful and common ones than your examples.

My alchilles'heel is to find out either Taylor or the trace of her songs in every of your English lessons, I actually trailed down a phrase which was mentioned in this video, it is called "bury the hatchet" from her song, Endgame.
