The other factor this season is the max 5 transfers. If you can save that many you can create a mini free hit for say gameweek 29 by using them all at once. Will be a factor in my thinking as to how I can best save and utilise the transfers.

Its more like a wildcard because you lose the money in the players you sell - with a free hit you can get them back the week after without losing the money

I think while Deadending is still a viable strategy. One thing you haven't talked about too much this season and maybe not thought about is that with the transfers rolling through a Wildcard now. I think the value of deadending is a lot lower now than it used to be.

This might be a stupid question About the assistant managerchip. The table diffrence points, to get it from the nr 1, does the team position have to be at 5th or 6th? What im sayin is, is it 5 teams between the two positions or is it just 5 places between them? Bescuse its a diffrence

Good question. Based on your example, a team in 6th would get the 'Table Bonus', but a team in 5th would not as the 1st place team (i.e., Liverpool) is only *4* places ahead in the standings. Hope that helps!

With the win points, a 1-1 draw against a team 5 places higher would be 9 points. A 1-0 standard win would therefore also be 9 points. A good chance win against a higher team with the safety of the draw is well worth it.

@@FPLnorth agreed, also depending on the fixture you target, a 3-0 win for a safer bet with yield you more points then a potential 2-1 or 1-0 win for a team 5 places lower (assuming that the likelihood of a win in that situation would be a narrow margin)

I do like the thought of spurs though 31-33 if they get a double in 33 of Forest / Fulham coupled with Southampton and wolves in 31&32. My other thought is Everton as they have a good home record against Liverpool, Moyes could get them firing again 🤞

I honestly think that bgw29 will be easy to navigate and there may be no need for a wildcard straight after. My current plan is ASS MAN 31-33, FH34, WC35, BB36. Bench boost straight after wildcard feels nicer whereas last season I left 7 gws between it and had to take hits to get a decent bench

Surely the best gw to bench boost is 36 when there is a lot of doubles? So you can wildcard 35 and bench boost a squad full of doubles in 36. But that means no assistant manager chip at the end of the season so need to use it before

If I play the wildcard now, I will probably play the assistant manager chip on potentially Amorim/Postecoglu/Glasner GW36-38. Other contenders are Unai Emery and Pep.

@muhammadesa2517 that's a very solid plan. I honestly feel if you are in a good position and satisfied with your rank, it's best to play the assistant manager chip safe. The upside is high but far too risky with this chip.

I dont think dead-ending is a thing anymore because there are such good alternatives to blankers like Gordon, Hall, Trent, Konate, that are good long-term. That means the Wildcard 30 isnt forced, or even necessary. So the blanks can just be managed with transfers, saving the upside chips Bench Boost and FreeHit for the big 33 & 36 doubles. Obviously wilcarding the week before you bench boost

The GW29 is tempting for a Free Hit to hold thru the assets for DGW33, but I'm afraid that those assets could end up blanking in GW34 as well.

Would love to play the AM chip for a double, but for points Crystal Palace look good for 26-28 right now imo. Two teams currently more than 5 places ahead they could draw or win against. 🤷🏻
