Even after surgery for an ectopic pregnancy rupture, you still have to be monitored. One thing checked is my HCG level, and the other (that I requested) was a blood count. After the blood loss of the rupture, I wanted to ensure I was heading in the right direction. There will be many levels of healing for this experience - physically and mentally.

Hi, I'm Maggie and I have Crohn's disease. I am thrilled to be here sharing my personal experiences with Inflammatory Bowel Disease as well as living with an ostomy. I'm proud to share a little bit from a clinical experience as well, having worked as a GI pediatric nurse and ostomy telehealth nurse. I am so glad you are here. ♥ #ibd #crohnsdisease #ostomy

I've had a hysterectomy because of the evil endometriosis. In that they went in and took the bits out. The pain was not my friend in any way. The cut is in the same spot yours is in. I needed 6 erka to recover. I was a house cleaner at the time. There was no way I could clean my 20 houses until I felt right inside. You will feel the pulling. My doctor said it's normal. None the less I walked. I had 50 steps to do on my building. Pace yourself. Sit when tired, go for a walk and take in Gods beauty. You are truly a wonderful inspiration to those you connect with during these up hill climbs you face. 🇨🇦

I had to have an emergency hysterectomy from a pregnancy that died in my uterus. Long story short, I was losing so much blood and my doctors were telling me if my blood platelets went down 1% more they wouldn't be able to do anything for me. I was out of it almost and not by drugs, I was losing too much blood! I had lost a ton before going into the emergency room. I kept telling my doctor "save my uterus" there was nothing else they could do. I either passed out after signing the papers to let them do the emergency hysterectomy cause I don't remember anything else. Ne:t thing I remember is being in my room hooked up to the morphine machine and it was giving me a headache. I had to buzz the nurse to ask her to turn it off. I think they gave me pain meds by mouth, if needed. I'm glad your feeling better. ❤

My Dear! First, your tears were never annoying. Each of us watching were wanting to reach out, give you a hug and let you get a shoulder wet with your tears. Never apologize for honest emotion. This has been an emotional journey for you and thank you for letting us share in it. Know that your emotions are mental but also physical. All the hormones you've taken certainly affect emotion and enhances them. It is a part of your attemp to get pregnant, getting there and then the fall. Give yourself grace to be ok with what you have been through and time to decide where you are going. We'll be here as long as you want. PS Some of us are old enough to feel the pull to be a stand-in mom.

Hey Maggie! I'm a retired gynae nurse and I have seen many ectopics. You really need to remember that you have several skin layers behind that that needs to heal and if you do too much that isn't going to happen or worse, you will damage the process of healing. You also have an area inside where the fallopian tube was "detached" which needs to heal so if you overdo things, you will set yourself back and most likely get more pain. You can gentle walk and only do very light things for at least 6 weeks. As a nurse yourself, you know how these things work, so just be good to you and take things slowly xx

I did, although slowly. It was in 2012 when I had my hysterectomy. I was 52yrs old & single; therefore, I had no choice. I did my laundry, grocery shopping, paid bills, and went to the doctor, to see how I was healing. It wasn't easy, not at all, but I did it all by pacing myself, and if I didn't feel like doing that day, or the day after I didn't. Yet, I couldn't leave it for too long. And I recovered very, nicely. Thank God.

Maggie, your flowers and plants always take you to a happy place; your eyes twinkle and you smile from ear to ear when you talk Gardening! Just want to say, people deal with grief or heartbreak differently. Some are more emotional (or sensitive) than others. I'm typically not an emotional person myself, but verses of a song, words harshly spoken, can cause a waterfall of tears. When we love deeply, and are caring individuals who want to see others being happy, I think we may naturally hope for the same in return, and feel rejection and diappointment so much more deeply when we evaluate our own experiences.

Your videos have been a God-send! I just had a procedure to look at my kidneys and ureters due to years of kidney pain. Your sharing about the stent experience was very balanced and informative and helped me understand what my experience may be like. I’m now a couple days out from the procedure, with bilateral stents, I had biopsies done and they found a lot of bleeding in my ureters, per my surgeon they both looked like “sandpaper”. The pain is not fun with stents and your sentiments about pain control issues are so true! Learning you were a Peds Nurse just made you that much more relatable, I am as well 😊 Hoping you are doing well now!

Glad you are better. That tight feeling near the incision while walking and sitting down along with the sneeze pain, is very normal albeit scary and uncomfortable. Once the strips are off, try highly concentrated aloe gel (warning it is "chilly" also) to ease any topical irritation. I was somewhat surprised to see someone out of surgery so recently lifting and setting down grocery purchases into the car. I take that as good news, health-wise. I too have had several planned surgeries along with two emergencies. It is oddly amazing how placid, calm and routine a planned surgery can be when you can compare it to one that turns into an emergency. Thanks for sharing so much information with all of us. Coming from a former nurse and a You Tuber that I trust, I consider all information received on this channel enormously helpful. BTW thank your significant other, his "bye" made me jump, but then even my cat can startle me so....

Sending gentle hugs and prayers. Please rest and do lots of self care. I'm 20 years out from my ectopic, which was traumatic and also ended with surgery. Your body will heal but your heart...your heart will forever feel it because you move on but honestly you never get over the loss of your baby, especially one that so desperately wanted to be, as much as we wanted them. The way I can deal now is by blocking out the details. This is the first video of yours that I have watched in a few weeks, throughout your ectopic experience. It is all very triggering to me. I'm glad I watched this though. My heart breaks for you. Life is just so unfair. Keep the faith ❤

Never apologize for having human emotions. We all handle things differently and if it’s any consolation, I am like you when it comes to being emotional. You have gone through so much in the last few weeks. Allow yourself to heal and focus on positive things that make you happy. As for being anemic, I too deal with anemia. Several weeks ago I had surgery where I had a lot of blood loss. Because of that my hemoglobin dropped to 7.7 which lowered my blood pressure also. I ended up being given a unit of blood which raised my hemoglobin level to 9.7 and I was able to leave the hospital the next day. I had started iron infusions a few weeks before my surgery and finished the iron infusions for three weeks a month after my surgery. Because I am not able to absorb the iron in pill form naturally, I get the infusions. They really aren’t bad. Maybe it is something that you can think about if your anemia continues. Wishing you continued healing and beautiful, peaceful days ahead! Hugs from NJ. ❤️ (P.S. I LOVE hyacinths!)

I'm so glad you're pursuing therapy. My pregnancy loss was technically pretty mild on a biological scale, but it combined with a lot of past trauma and I fell hard into PPD (which, until then, I had no idea could happen without carrying to term.) I worked with a Reproductive Psychiatrist, and she was incredible. Once I did get pregnant with my rainbow baby, I was still carrying grief from my loss, and my emotions went haywire and I felt a ton of guilt about it all -- I was so happy to have a professional in my corner helping me through it. No matter what comes next for you, you deserve to have an ally who can support you.

Have you tried ice on the incision? I had emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix and ice was the only thing that helped. I also think now is a good time to stretch out in bed or on the couch and plan out your flower beds for the summer (try something new) and your garden. Research on what grows best in your area and what different fertilizers work best. Draw them out on paper. Throw dinner in the crock pot and enjoy the good smells during the day. You HAVE to take it easy. My incision opened up because I did not listen. Please take care of yourself!

I do not understand how any doctor can allow someone in pain to not get the relief they need... What is going on with the way women are being treated? When I was young, they told me the pain I was feeling with my period, was all in my head... We are going backwards at an alarming rate... I'm sorry you were put through the trauma of suffering... They should know better... Xoxo

I agree, it makes me very angry when especially women aren’t given adequate pain relief, especially after surgery. It’s just not good enough.

I had open surgery to reshape my hip a few years back and ended up with a c-section like incision- they also sell the silicone just in roll tape which I still use and they also are great to lighten the scaring!! Sending you the love and support in the world Maggie

I'm so very sorry for all you have been through Maggie. Abdominal surgery is really painful afterwards. I had 3 C-sections and I remember feeling like my incision was going to rip open. I can relate to you when you said that you sneezed. That happened to me too, and it was awful. I'm glad you're doing well and doing things you enjoy. And if you feel like crying there's nothing wrong with that. Sending you love from Ohio ❤️

Hi Maggie 👋 Please, never apologise, you have nothing to be sorry for. Your tears aren’t annoying in the slightest. You’ve been through a huge trauma and I’d be concerned if you weren’t in tears about not only your losing your baby but the whole experience from start to finish, resulting in an emergency. It’s a hell of a lot to process and I’m glad that documenting your journey and being vulnerable by sharing it is helping you to do that. I totally understand that. You know what, I think that as women we are more open than men with our emotions. We have a natural tendency to be able to talk and express how we feel, whereas men tend to not do that, even with their peers who are close friends. Talking is good, it’s therapeutic, so no more apologies ❤ You are doing so well, and I’m so glad that you were able to get the pain relief for over that weekend. It makes me really angry when women go through these types of surgeries and aren’t given adequate pain relief. It’s just not good enough. Jeez, it’s not as though we beg for a year’s supply ffs 🤦‍♀️ I’m not surprised that you don’t want to think about fertility treatment. You need to heal not just physically but mentally and emotionally too first. Your flowers are just beautiful, so pretty and are such a lift to have them in the house. Much love and continued support from England 🥰🥰🥰
