Today, my 9month old German Shepherd and I had an encounter with a gang of Canada Gooses in the park. There were 4 of them blocking our path forward. Usually, when my dog sees a different breed of animal he is curious. But as soon as he saw these gooses, he stopped, sat, and didn’t move a muscle until they flew away, but didn’t take his eyes off them. First thing I thought of was this scene when Wayne says “the only animals that want anything to do with Canada Gooses is Canada Mooses” He was right

I once went to the beach on the border between Blaine, WA and South Surrey, BC and there was a pair of bald eagles on the Canadian side and a flock of Canada gooses on the American side. Beautiful show of brotherhood from the birds there.

True story: Had a border collie/sheltie mutt pup named Isaak, and was walking him around a park who's two central features were a man made lake and a golf course. An active fellow in a grey shorts and tank top combo was running around said lake, sporting USMC on his chest. You know the type. Not a soldier, but wishes he played one on tv so he could have all the glory with none of the sticking his neck out. He ran past us without saying a thing, nearly stomping on my pup. No harm done, and the prick kept running. Well, a flock of easily 50 Canada Goose had settled in on the path between the lake and the greens, and he was running towards them. Canada Goose had no interest in that. They saw him coming in hot and decided he'd better cool his heels. About 15 of them broke off from the flock and raised a honking battle cry and chased him off the path, onto the greens, through a sand trap and on. He had to double up his speed to get away, and was half way round the lake in no time. watching us as we approached the flock. I warned Isaak that if things got rough I'd have him safe in hand, but I needn't worry. That little mutt saw the flock as just something else to chase and play with. As the birds returned to the rest of the flock, they spied us and started our way, but upon seeing the floppy, wagging, bounding boy at the end of his leash they thought he must be the greatest of all werewolves. The whole mess of them took wing, not into the golf course, but a mere 15-20 feet away into the water where my boy couldn't threaten them with his bouncing and tail wagging. We walked past, him looking in wonder at the majestic birds, and I keeping an eye out for the fierce "cobra chickens". That was when I spied the tough guy off in the distance, staring back at us with red hot resentment in his eyes. Those brutal birds had made him scream like a Laughing Sal and shamed him all over the golf course, but little old me and my even littler mutt had walked through them like it was a stroll in the park... which it was. This might not be because I nor my miniature werewolf were intimidating. I think back on it and I think those Canada Gooses knew what they were doing. They treated us as they did not because of anything we did. They did it to rub salt in the wounds of that tough guy.
