She was so cute and had (has) such a distinctive vibrato to her voice. She's still married to that guy that she eloped with, so good for her! Paul and the band did a good job of backing her up.

@@kevinlakeman5043 It’s just a manner of speaking/a sentiment many of us have. I do the same thing. There have been so many musicians and artists from my childhood that have been passing within such a short amount of time and it hits hard esp when you hear about it well after it happened. Their music brought so much joy and accompanied so many memories for us growing up and while it’s different kind of grief than that of a close friend or relative, it can be saddening to say good bye. If I am going to jump online to cheer myself up with a song/video, I’d rather be prepared. Not sure why this is a foreign concept.

Interesting, that Charlotte agreed with Belinda to break up the band. Considering that Charlotte was the primary song writer (although Jane Weidlin did contribute more as time went on) and Belinda was the lead singer, without the two of them the band could not continue. Glad they finally got back together at the turn of the century for one more album, with the hit "Unforgiven" co written by Charlotte Caffee and Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day with some input from Jane Weidlin for the band's last top 40 hit, peaking at #22.

The Go Go’s were not The Go Go’s without Jane. They thought that they could replace her, just like they had done with other members in the past. But they were very wrong. She was indispensable for group chemistry. They did a few shows with her replacement Paula Jean Brown in 1985 before Belinda and Charlotte decided to break up the band because their heart wasn’t in to the band anymore. That would never have happened if Jane hadn’t left to go solo herself. Consider what has happened in the years since then. They’ve replaced Gina and Kathy(and Charlotte temporarily, because of pregnancy) with new people and gone on tour with them. 2010 was supposed to be The Go Go’s farewell tour. But it was canceled because Jane hurt her knee while hiking, requiring surgery and a year of rehab. The rest of the band didn’t want to tour without her. That shows how invaluable Jane is to The Go Go’s.

Glad the Go Go's made the Hall of Fame. Like a lot of men, I was crushing on Belinda, and Jane to a lesser extent. When she started cleaning up her appearance and image for her solo career, it was like a new person almost. This is my favorite song of her solo career. She had mild success for a few years, unlike Suzanna Hoffs who bombed, crashed and burned. As far as Letterman, he started out great with his dry, sarcastic humor. But eventially he became full of himself, acted bigger than the stars he interviewed. He openly flirted with female guests, would act bored and disinterested at times. His feud with Leno was off-putting, he could never get over Leno getting his dream job or Leno beating him in the ratings.

Weird funny info about The Go Go's. When 'Our Lips Are Sealed' came out it was a huge hit in Australia as well. But because the Aussies had a little bit of a hard time understanding the American accent in the song... they thought it was 'Alex The Seal'. Seriously... not kidding.
