“To me beauty is looks that you can never forget, and I’ve walked down the street with Divine and seen car accidents happen.” 😂 love this man

I wish I could’ve experienced theatres back in the late 80s early 90s. John brings cinema alive just like David Lynch one of his heroes

The one and only John Waters. As for Divine? Need more be said? Damn glad they came along. The wild part in all of us owe them a heart-felt thanks.

John was cute here, I went to see polyester when it came out, I was 17 and loved it. I introduced a lot of my friends to John Waters films back in the 80's.

I love how, in America, when you actually need medical advice it’s locked behind paywalls and paperwork, but the minute a fat person goes out in public every doctor in a 5 mile radius needs to tell them they’re fat and will die

Letterman was the worst possible choice to interview these two hilarious and edgy artists. He always seemed uncomfortable around any men who were even remotely effeminate or different, and his fratboy comedy style always mocked these kinds of people, as if he and all other "regular" folk were laughing at them behind their backs.
@scottbrady7499 Жыл бұрын
don't see why the blue and gold label. makes me think boring sell-out CBS days. since I knew Divine's passing, it occurred to me this would be early NBC. eleven thirty central time, I was in Omaha then. old. season one, no band yet Andy Kaufman slap times

For my money, the titans of TV are Lorne Michaels and Dave Letterman. So original, so timeless, ‘70s SNL and ‘80s Late Night still hold up, still seem original. Most TV seems BS comparatively.

As expected from Letterman: a mediocre hosting with an condescending attitude toward his guests (that he himself invited to the show).
