That's exactly how I felt - that he'd live forever. Being in a tropical band and playing some of his songs, it feels like life will never be the same. I feel like a little happiness might have left the earth - but he WILL live on in our hearts, minds and songs - and I'm pretty sure he's playing some amazing tiki bar in heaven right now 🥰🍹The party's not all over!

I cried like a baby when I saw this video as this song has a particular place in my heart. After hearing how this song saved Jimmy’s life I would say in many ways although different, this song saved my life as well. Many years ago I was quite a different young man when I met this particular girl who was quite different from the rest. We had met a few months earlier but I was resistant to commit even though I knew she was special. I had a trip planned with my buddies to Key West to get away to cut loose a bit during spring break. Having lived in Ft Lauderdale in the 80’s I was introduced to Jimmy Buffet and became I guess you could say, a Parrot Head. Anyway fast forward to my Key West trip I began to realize that the special girl I had been seeing meant so much more to me then I wanted to admit. So much so my heart really began to miss her like no one ever before. Now up to this point we talked about not seeing each other exclusively but I realized that I not only wanted to spend the rest of my life with her but I didn’t want to ever leave her again. So one night while “Come Monday” was playing in the background I decided to call her and tell her my feelings. It was that night told her I would be back early Monday and asked her to “save Monday for me”. Fourteen months later we were married and it is still one of the happiest days of my life but it all started with that lonely night and Jimmy Buffet in the background singing “Come Monday”. Now after 30 years this song still has a special place in our hearts. So much so every time we hear it we say “save Monday for me” my wife with a smile and me with a tear in my eye.

As of right now, no cause of death has been announced, but.. part of the statements from his social pages state - "He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.” -- Was touching to read that, after my 1st thought upon hearing this shocking passing. I don't follow him super closely, but there was a mention that he had visited the hospital in recent years, but recovered & went on his way making plans with friends as usual.. Bless his sweet soul 💜✨✨✌💕

I woke up to the news this morning and while I'm sad that I never got to see him perform, I will keep these songs going out through the air as long as I can. Jimmy's music & lifestyle helped pull me out of a dark place in the 90's. I probably over indulged too much in the boat drinks, but that's just another lesson learned & part of the journey.

He owned a chain of retirement homes called Latitude Margaritaville, a place for his fans to retire, so impossible for him to die in a trailer when he had multiple business ventures, he was very successful outside his music

I had the pleasure of meeting jimmy Buffett back in the 80's at our radio 📻 station WWUS 105 FM on big pine key, Florida. He contributed to many of our station I.D.'s. It was a great time to live in the Florida Keys. Jimmy was living in a trailer home on Stock Island, Florida and driving that old pick up truck during that time. ❤❤❤
