Jimmy Buffett would visit Thomas County GA in the late 80's and early 90's. He loved it up here in S. GA.. He would hunt and rented a plantation yearly up here.. No one bothered him up here. You would see him ride around in his Range Rover and play tennis at the tennis courts at Thomasville High School. I saw him several times.

Very interesting tour. I was living in the area at that time. 1967 -1973. Working at Key West Kennel Club. I used to watch Mel Fisher and crew refitting their search vessel in the early part of their venture. (They finally found the treasure) A fun part of my life.

Frank - thank you for watching and for sharing your story. How cool that must have been to watch Mel and his crew up close like that. Every day he would say "Today is the Day" and sure enough the day came. There's great picture of Jimmy sitting with Mel right after the discovery surrounded by silver bars and treasure. Fins up!

btw I knew Jimmy slightly in the '70's, met him in NY at the Bottom Line and then did some art projects for him. I had the Waddell Ave address to send him the artwork, though at first he was reluctant to give it out. He was a very gracious individual, as well as a great tunesmith. The planet is significantly poorer in a Jimmyless World

Great video! I've been to Key West 3 times and never saw any of these places (except some of the more famous bars). So is the Waddell st house the place Jimmy was getting out of bed around noonish for the film crew in the beginning of Tales from Margaritavision?
@allthestoriesicantell7595 Жыл бұрын
Yest - that scene from Margaritavision was part of a special called "Introducing Jimmy Buffett". That was his bedroom and there is a scene with an older lady standing outside on the front porch. Also a part of that special was video clip for Nautical Wheelers which was filmed at the Lantern Inn - now its Chicos Restaurant. That is in my top 10 list part 1.

How could "A White Sports Coat and a ..., " not be your favorite Jimmy Buffett LP ? Every song is a classic, & some are, in my opinion, the finest he ever wrote. But I would rank "A1A" as the second best JB LP.
