The NSW 11m RIB was the workhorse for SWCC/SEALs for 25+ years. It’s now in service by a special unit with the marines. Still in its infancy. I’ve spent MANY long hours and nights working on those damn things. Keep the belts TIGHT, especially coolant/water pump belt, clean air filter and impellers clean. Every year check your or after a lot of use, check the jets/impellers/stators for clearances. Good luck with electrical. 😂

They stopped using them in 2022, and switched to a different model. Of course, there are some leftover but they are getting rid of them, check the government auctions. Go buy one for yourself real cheap, fix it, and sell them. With your knowledge, you could make a killing.

We used Rhib’s in the CG, they worked well, only problem, they can be a rough ride in small seas. A lot of back problems from the rhibs we used, especially those 25 footers.

As a 12c bridger in the army, I think you guys could really benefit from the MKII Bridge Erection Boat. Get it modded up and youd have a recovery beast of boat. It has the same jet/scoop setup dual 12v engines, and built for pushing and pulling

When i worked for Cummins, we built some engines for one of the deadliest catch boats... and those marines engines pushed way more than the road engines, mostly having to do with emissions no where near as stict for marine applications

I use to build both of these boats. The green one is for SWIC’s, and the grey is the RIB for seals and they could drop that boat out of planes. They’re both very tough boats.

Duel 475hp 3126 cats. Two rolls Royce jet drive and twin disc gears. Work in the yard that worked on these for years and later the shop that was contracted to build the engines. The engines will have stickers say one of two companies. I hope they don’t say PUCKET on the front. Better than the yanmar junk.

If your able to get full power out of it, it might be worth it since you won't get anything as powerful for the price being asked... not to mention besides your Navy boat this could be a good alternate and can be used as a diver support boat with the mount area if converted correctly

When we got to ride in one of these RHIB boats, that were made to "CRASH" a soft beach and then back off just as fast , we had our own name for them "RING BOATS" , because when you combined THE NAVY AND MARINES on a boat, someone was gonna " get their bell rung" by the PILOT driving it like a madman like you tried to test!!!!! So buy it, have fun, strap in your " hunting party" kick ass and go home happy!

Buy it, engine swap it for something nicer, ditch the electronics/controls and make it 1/1 with your big patrol boat. Also doesn't really make a good surfing wave, but, it'll probably be easier to deal with than your big boat and do mostly all of the same things.

I’m from DownUnder 🇦🇺 And when I was in the Aussie Navy (RAN) my first deployment was onboard HMAS Newcastle and we went up to the Persian Gulf to help protect the Oil rig in 2003 the 2nd Iraq War, and while I was up there driving the RHIBs (Ridged Hull Inflatable Boat) we would do joint drills with the US Navy’s RHIBs and their boats we’re almost 2.5 times larger than ours and it looks exactly like the boat you’re testing out in this video. I think you should definitely buy it and then do what you do and rebuild, Upgrade and modify the in order to get the best advantages out of this RHIB…Cheers 👍🏼👍🏼🕶️🦘🇦🇺

Dave this is a good spec op navy boat. I drove the small 10m one. If you want to throw water drop a bucket and spin the wheel the other way. Should toss the water a good 20 30 feet.

The boat Is a good boat. The inflatable collar is trash. Get rid of that thing before it falls apart or you rip the collar open and lose your floatation. Replace it with something that has polyethylene foam like your RPB.

Well it’s a tough call. If the inflatable tubes are Kevlar , you should be good. Other wise I’d buy a crap load of patches ,and two part glue. And rebuild the other motor, and give the rebuilt motor a good “go thru “ for S&G’s.

Not to get into an argument with anyone, but that’s most likely an early generation of the SEAL teams boat. They used the RIBS in the 80’s early 90’s. Used to go by my house regularly headed to the Black Water River from Norfolk. Later, my bnl who was retired from the teams worked as a dive locker technician for a civilian contractor at Fort Bragg where the 7th army was using retired SEAL equipment. Many pieces of the inventory had been previously used inspected and maintained by himself. He was also involved in the creation of the newer generations. Feel free to doubt me, but every piece of equipment they use, from the dive gear to the boats and outboards are maintained and logged in a log book that follows the equipment until retirement. His signature was in many of those logs.

I would pass only because of the Cats. My former employer bought a lot of 3126e and C-7 powered trucks. The engine problems were epic and expensive compared to Cummins powered trucks. Parts cost was 4 times as much and everything took much more labor time on the Cats. It would have to be an absolute screaming deal to even be considered. I like the boat hate the engines.

I'm not enthused at the prospect of rebuilding the turbos and maybe the entire starboard engine. I've had some luck with a lot of of big boats and I think that there may be an opportunity to fix it and flip it but I wouldn't keep it because this RHIB is not any more capable than the one that you already own.

No, it's not worthwhile. The navy boat you have can do the same and more. The Zodiac pontoons wouldn't last through a single recovery with the type of usage you guys put these boats through.

It's fun, but you want fun and useful which your existing boat does already. Buy it at a fix it reduction price if you reckon you can hire it out for recreation enough, but it's always going to need repairs and that's gonna put a dampener on it. .
