I've heard Brant numerous times on the radio program. He's straight forward, brilliant, articulate and very humorous. I'm honored to have seen this interview...I needed this timely message.

Sending this to my daughter. She knows I grew up in a very abusive home and she has more anger toward my guardians than I do. My point to her is that me being angry only hurts me and prevents me from living a peaceful life. Forgiveness had freed me! Why would I want to let my abuser continue to abuse me now? Great great topic.

When anger comes I say, "I recognized, repent and renounce for embracing the spirit of anger. I break the assignment bondage and power that anger has had over me in Jesus' name. I ask for forgiveness now and tell it to go out of the mind, will and emotion. Out of my body, out of every cell." I then let it all go. Then I ask "come Holy Spirit into every place that the enemy has left, fill me in Jesus' name"

It’s because we’re sinners. We live in a world where without Jesus there is no peace. I’m sure if we never showed anger then we must be holding it in. That’s the worse.

Anger us not our enemy because it is an emotional tool that the Lord has given us upon creation to let us detect injustice around and within us. That is why we are told to get angry without sinning and to not let the sun go down (let the light leave) our anger. In addition, Jesus Himself got angry so we need to be able to differentiate, and train ourselves to identify (and alter as needed), between good and bad anger. Anger is not the problem, how we use it with the Lord either is or isn't! It is also somewhat disrespectful/immature and irresponsible, depending on what is in question at any given time, to simply permit and tolerate irritating behavior without working to check and/or challenge it for the purpose of correction. Doing so can be akin to affirming someone in their sins and allowing them to believe that they, along with Christ, have no power to change or improve. That is completely untrue, because Jesus is the Lord of change (hearts and minds), and if we are complacent in irritating others, or allowing them to do so needlessly, then we should take a serious look at that with the Lord (i.e. examine our conscience). In Christ, Andrew

Where I work there are maybe you 50 of us in the store at a time. The three shifts sometimes overlap, and the actions, or lack of actions, effect the others. There are several of us that call ourselves Christians. It has been interesting, embarrassing and enlightening to see our character flaws. Through fours years of this there have been many opportunities to learn, grow and forgive. I hope I learn what God wants me to. ✌️

The Bible says be angry and sin not, so you can have righteous anger. If we get angry when God is offended, it's righteous like David was angry when Goliath cursed God. When personal offense is mixed with an offense to God then the anger is tainted and we should not let the sun go down on the anger. The anger generates power and we should direct the energy to solving the problem and resolving the conflict.

This is really good. The only question I have is if we have put our trust in Jesus and have received Him as Savior and Lord, are we still sinners? That’s hard to reconcile.
@sheilatt95896 жыл бұрын
We are born into sin. Unfortunately we are all sinners not necessarily because of what we've done but because of who we are. Even if we have done our very best, we fall short. We can't help it. We needed a savior. It is by grace and not by works.
@brownrhythms6 жыл бұрын
Still sinners. The law of sin remains in us until we die. You can look at Romans 7-8.

I agree Brant's wisdom about anger and Letting go of offenses is spot on, but his perspective of our identity (as Christian) is questionable, "I know who I am and we kid ourselves if we think we're not bad." Brant Hansen is not bad, he may miss the mark (sin)but when Brant sinned the Lord is able to see Him apart from His sin. God sees all who are His this way righteous and holy, and separates us from the sin. To be even clearer not by our merit but by Christ merit. "We got to let this go (righteous anger)" I agree with Brant, but that power Brant speaks of is truly God's grace and mercy and when drawn to Christ through relationship,God grants His children His power to see sin apart from the person. God hates sin but loves the person. I believe I am God's child, however if I yield to sin (my choice) because of my flesh or law, I fall short, I may even at time ignorantly and willing rebel. But God and because of His grace has made a way for me to be drawn back to Him. A new prayer I asked the Lord, is to convict me when I've sinned against Him and Holy spirit lead me so that I may repent immediately. The Big picture is our sin is towards God (spiritually first)then towards others (physically second). John Fuller, remember offenses is the bait of Satan. God is the only one who can forgive. When we submit to God first, and truly surrender to God first, He will do the rest for us . Mr. Fuller, the Holy Spirit will always instruct us on what to do and what to say, if we're yielding to the Lord and willing to listen. All offenses expose the condition of our hearts. He is exposing the unseen impurities that He wants us to surrender to Him. I believe the Lord is asking us all to give it to Him and He will do the rest. All we must do is be willing to trust and obey. Be Blessed.
