Very interesting video! I appreciate you sharing your whole thought process about the book and decks in this collection and I love that going through the process + “sleeping on it” allowed you to let go of the Prisma Visions as well. I hope for some of your clarity this year as I want to clear my collection of decks that don’t inspire me, too. ❤

It really helps to talk things out loud - or express them in some way! Hearing myself talk about the Prisma Visions on camera made me realize that I really don't care for it enough to keep it around. Life's too short to put unnecessary burdens and obligations on ourselves 😆 By the way, I have another video with more Decluttering Questions. I find the same, there a decks I expected to love, and I just can't connect them. I've found I'll keep tabs on decks I think I'd like for at a month prior to actually purchasing them. This has saved my money and my sanity. (I like to pair tarot and oracle decks, so it can be double trouble!).

Yeah, simmering on it for like a month is helpful! There are so many decks that look beautiful at first glance, but don't pan out like we hoped.

I really enjoyed watching this. I just purchased a pre loved Cosma Visions. I had such an incredible reaction to the deck. Honestly it's quite hard to explain, I get happy obviously when a new deck arrives, but this is on another level... So, I've just purchased the Prisma (also pre owned by the same seller). I know we go through different phases on our spiritual and tarot/divination journeys so I'm not yet sure if they will be forever decks... But I know I'll love them until the day I may wish to move them on. 🙌 Love these videos.

They truly are great decks! It's clear James puts so much care and detail in each of the cards. Even if they're not my personal taste anymore, they are objectively some of the coolest decks I could ever imagine. I really enjoyed having them while I did 😀

Sometimes i feel like Light Visions is a bit less overwhelming because it's fewer colours. But it's so hard to rehome Prisma Visions because some of the major arcana cards are just so perfect. This video has reminded me i need to have another go with the oracle.

omg first of all HELLO TO YOUR CAT!!! I LOVE THEM!!! we also have a tux and she's my favorite cat ever!! 🖤🤍 Yeah, some of the majors are so well-drawn and exemplify the meanings so well. I realized that, upon picking up the deck for that last time, that there were more cards in the deck that I *didn't* care for than ones I liked. I just got the Cosma Visions back from my friend today; I'll also give it another go by the end of the year, as I have new plans/ideas on how to work with it 🤔

The biggest complaint I’ve seen people have with the prismavisions major arcana is the Fool card. Apparently its imagery has nothing to do with the traditional card meaning whatsoever. This video has inspired me to pass my Cosmavisions along! I bought it, looked at it and put it away and never used it. It’s so beautiful but I just don’t feel called to use it. Thanks for the video and sharing your thoughts! Also thanks for the reminder to use paragraphs 😂😅😊

Yes, I've heard that complaint too! Funny enough, the Pelican as the Fool never really bothered me - something about a bird getting ready to be in flight and scoop up some fish just felt "yeah sure, Fool energy to me." These decks are visually amazing to look at, but I don't feel any emotional connection to this. (I posted a recent video sharing thoughts and questions on decluttering! Cosma Visions was in there too.) Hopefully the people receiving our Cosma Visions decks will enjoy them more than we did!

@@tangytarot the complaints I’ve heard were about the wolf (!) in the card. There’s a wolf in the water looking up at the pelican, so it gave the card a darkness - since it looks like the wolf is drowning and the pelican is unphased watching him drown. Crazy, right?

@@dayofthejackyl Okay WOW, I had never noticed the wolf until you pointed it out to me now! Just goes to show how little I actually read with / studied with it when I had it 😅 I asked my friend who now has the deck about it, and she shared the excerpt from the guidebook with me. (And she also told me there's a Prisma Visions app with the card meanings, which I totally forgot existed.) Apparently, the wolf is actually the "Fool" in the card: "Hoping for an easy dinner, he has foolishly swum out beyond the cautious trappings of his solid world. Gazing up at the stoic pelican, the wolf realizes he has departed on a journey that could easily result in his own demise." That actually makes sense for the meaning of the Fool. But the art composition doesn't center the Wolf and make it obvious.

Not weird for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was holding on to these for years and trying to make them work. This helps me process my thoughts out loud and have some closure, plus leave a record my future self so I'm not tempted to repurchase them.

@@tangytarot still weird. Because you're not gaining closure but rather replaying that which doesn't serve you. You needn't bash something that isn't for you, let it go and move forward. You should be directing energies towards that which is for you. Let it go and move forward - why would you try to make something work that isn't for you? Why would one be tempted to repurchase if it's not for them? Are you rooted in materialism and/or trends? I know a deck isn't for me as soon as I handle it and return it - why dwell on what isn't for you? If you're dwelling on what isn't for you, that is exactly what you manifest. Your logic is backwards.

Processing and remembering what doesn't work for me *does* help me focus on the things that do. I have plenty of videos about what decks DO work for me, in addition to sharing what doesn't. And, there are also plenty of decks I know are not for me, and that I have gotten rid of without making videos about. And I'm not sure where you got this "bashing" tone from; I haven't attacked the deck or the artist in any way, only provided reasons why it's not compatible with my tastes. You've never questioned in hindsight if you did the right thing or made the right decision? Not just about decks, but also relationships, friendships, life choices. This short one-off video is not me "dwelling" on the loss, as you think I am; it's me expressing and releasing these feelings & thoughts so I don't hold them in my mind anymore. It's closure. I'm not sure why this is hitting such a personal note with you, and I'm not sure if you're here to actually understand or dialogue or if you're just here to criticize.

​@@tangytarot I'm the same way in that if I don't process things like this out loud then I *will*, most likely at some point be tempted to repurchase. Like you said it's the same thing in many other aspects of life especially relationships. It's like how we tend to seek closure after a breakup etc. And it hurts more if we don't get that. And then we go back to the person lol. It's not weird at all for Sarah to process these feelings out loud in fact it's a perfectly normal thing to do and a lot of us do it here on TarotTube with declutter videos. It's cool if you don't feel a connection to material things but a lot of us do and this process is immensely helpful for us. I also didn't perceive any sort of bashing tone in this video. Sarah is very logical and rational in the way she speaks. Anyway I came here because I'm interested in getting the Cosma Visions lol and you know what this was very helpful for me. I like everything else about the deck but I'm not really into the birds because I don't understand what they have to do with past lives. I can see how their symbolism mirrors the tarot meaning but again I don't really see how they are related to past life work. And don't worry about these anonymous critics Sarah they start coming out of the woodwork the more popular you become 😉

Kara, your comments about repurchasing certain things (and being too hasty to declutter) are why I process some things out loud like this 😀 These comments are easy for people to listen to and say like "well duh," but for us actually going through this process, it's helpful to say these things out loud, express them, so we can hear ourselves and how we sound. And this definitely helped me let go of these Visions decks with no regrets 😌 Yeah, the themes and suits of Cosma Visions weren't cohesive to me; I also realize now that I want to develop my own theories of past lives, and I don't need a specific past-life-themed deck to do that anymore.
