Oof, really felt all that you said about ancestors!! I met my grandparents once at 8 years old, when we visited my parents homeland Chile, but lived my entire life in Australia and not having any ties to my parents culture and no relatives living in the same country as me. It’s feels unfortunate, sometimes.

when I am in such a phase where I get the same readings all the time, I just use the tarot for different things, like games (that murder mystery that was a tag a while ago), card tricks, or story-telling, or a deep dive/ deck study. Or, if I feel I get too "comfort zone-ey" in my readings, I try to do fake readings for politicians or celebrities I "hate" ( I let generate questions they might have by some chat AI), and I'm really harshly telling them "the cruelest truth" the cards have to say. It's really interesting, what spin a 3 of cups card can take that way....When my fake client is on the floor, in tears and shaking, I pull another card or 2 for hope and a way out of the mess, and I read them in the most gentle way possible. Because even if it's fake, I just can't "sayonara" them, devastated like that...

What a fun video! I can relate to feeling like you're getting the same reading over and over. I've taken a couple months off from tarot because I was getting the same thing. I think for me, part of the problem was not being able to get my imagination to flow freely - I'm naturally more literal-minded. Time for me to nourish my creative side.

Yay, glad you did this tag!! I also like that you talked about your significators changing with time, as I feel like that's very common. I also don't generally pull them out separate from a deck, but if they do pop up, I know what they're referencing. That last deck you showed is so cool too. I only recognized a couple of the foods, but that's still such a cool idea for a deck.

One of the things I read about Chariot and the symbolism of the black and white is that the black sphinx symbolizes the shadow self. We cannot move forward with out our shadow self, without doing the work that brings us forward with our shadow. Another phrase that comes to mind is in cycling. I used to do a lot of group cycling events and I always kept in my heart, "we are only as fast as our slowest member." To me, that means not surging ahead blindly, but checking in with our team members, whether it's our partners, loved ones, coworkers, even the coffee shop guy. I definitely get the "keep going energy" of the card, but for me it's a check in -- are we all on board? am I rushing to the good parts and ignoring the tough bits? Do I even want to go in this direction?

I'm definitely two months late and I have SO much to say LOL. 1. does this mean i'm going to make tarot videos eventually? (prob not) 2. One of my favorite lovers cards is from the Fifth Spirit which depicts a person looking at themselves in the mirror. I think the self love aspect is so powerful! In Radical Tarot by the same author as Fifth Spirit, alternate names listed for the Lovers is "the Mirror". In my mindfulness journey, a common theme is about blurring the things that separate us. We're all so connected to each other. Ok i'm fully babbling!

I love this series because it always inspires me to pull out my decks and think about my own experiences. The lion is so oversaturated for the Strength Card. The Strength card is a very dear card for me. When I was going through one of my roughest times, the card I continually pulled and it's an image I think about when I struggle. The funny thing is my partner is a Leo/Lion and his birthday is 8/8. The Numonious Tarot's Strength card even looks like him, but instead of a lion, it's a bear. Another one I love is from 5th Spirit Tarot which features a pitbull. That's quite personal since it was the card I was pulling and the pittie looked like my dog at the time. I ended up leaving her with my ex and that card did help me with that decision. She ultimately wanted me to find the strength to go on her own and she would be fine.

Your strength card choices are fab, and I love the examples you gave in the life experiences you shared. Strength for me very clearly comes up in instances where I want to give up or feel like I have no more endurance inside (especially when it comes to parenting). Strength is almost this reservoir inside of spare dedication and energy I can only access when I'm in dire straits. I make it through those hard times exhausted, but feeling empowered on the other side of it.

Oh this is just gorgeous, you have such a great way of sharing your journaling that is so inspiring without being intimidating - sometimes I watch videos like this and feel overwhelmed by it all but yours are just wonderful. The family journal is such a lovely idea, I’ve been feeling the desire to do something similar for a while and that seems like a very gentle but significant way to record these things. Thank you so much for sharing! 💕 (I hope all your journals are ok after the crash at the end!!)

I feel you, sometimes I can feel overwhelmed by other people's journal stacks as well! I have to remind myself that other people's habits, lifestyles, and frankly attention spans can be different from mine. Besides my day & week planner, all the other notebooks are a "whenever I feel like it" basis... basically, hobby notebooks, really! The family journal has been a wonderful crack into actually asking questions about my family history 🧡 It feels like such a deep ocean of knowledge & history, and I felt a journal was the only way I could make sense of it. I'm now inspired to write more about other kinds of ancestors, like notable figures in history, too - especially Asian, queer, and/or neurodivergent history! They're all fine after the crash. They're thicccccc and can survive anything now 🤣

Amazing! So many great notebooks! 📚 I am upsizing my page-a-day this year from a Techo to a Cousin. I fear not the blank page! 🤣I have attempted a commonplace book before but I've never really stuck with it even though I see the value in it. I have a "tarot book notes" notebook going (a Stalogy) but I use it infrequently -- lots when I'm working through a tarot book that involves journalling or notetaking but not the rest of the time. I'll look forward to seeing your 2025 setup!

Your comment got me simmering on a Cousin from an A6... This entire week, I've been simmering! And I've decided that I've changed my mind since I filmed this video weeks ago! I shall not fear the blank page either! 🤣 Truly though, I watched someone else's video of journaling and logging each day, and I realized I could definitely use more breathing room in my daily planner. The past few days, I've written so much and barely had space to decorate 😩 Yay for tarot notebooks! I want to write more tarot book notes down, but man my attention is a limited resource. I'd be fascinated to see your "tarot book notes" notebook sometime! Which books gave you a lot to write about, what takeaways did you have from certain books, did you write down criticisms of books, etc. 👀 Journaling & planning are so exciting! I can hardly wait for the end-of-year journal videos 😀

@tangytarot
@tangytarot 19 күн бұрын
Yeah, Storyteller's Tarot can seem a bit all over, since it's not focused on only one region or culture(s) like, say, the Oracle of 11. Side note: apparently the Coins suit in the deck is themed around the Chinese zodiac animals! Pig is 9 of Coins and Dog is 10 of Coins, for example. They omitted the Dragon and the Tiger. The court cards are based on the 4 Guardians of the Chinese constellations. 😮 I'm excited to study/work with Loputyn when I get there! I'm finishing up a deck study now and have like 2 more in the queue 😆 So many projects & ideas! I want to make videos with the Oracle/Tales of 11 too!

omg I love this so much! I'm being so indecisive about my planner for next year. I'm really loving the idea of what you're doing here, but I'm worried I won't have the energy or time to decorate more often than not. But I'm *super* inspired by your "beating perfectionism" approach! Two things: how do you use the weekly spreads in the Hobonichi? I need a weekly spread to be functional, and my brain doesn't super enjoy the vertical layout, which has kept me from getting a hobonichi cousin. Second thing: have you heard of Stickii club? For like $12 a month they send various sticker sheets from different artists in a theme along with a bit of stationary or ephemera. I really enjoyed it while I was doing it. Thanks for sharing!
@tangytarot
@tangytarot 19 күн бұрын
The A6 size I have doesn't have weekly spreads, so that's why I used a separate planner for my weekly overview. I'm sticking with this 2-planner system for next year as well; I don't like the vertical week layouts in the A5 version either. Sterling Ink's planners might be right up your alley though! They have a variety of sizes, and with pages for months, quarters, weeks, AND days! They also have options for vertical weeklies and horizontal weeklies! I'm sticking with Hobonichi for now because Sterling Ink's daily pages are undated, and I'm attached to the Hobonichi quotes 🥰 But that other brand/designer really tempted me. Stickii Club sounds like such a great chance to experience different artists' work! Thanks for sharing! 🥰
