I also have that backlog of decks going on. I rarely go gung-ho with a new deck, I like it to settle in, as it were. I really enjoyed hearing about your deck studies/monthly card study, I'm always interested in how folks work with their decks. I'd not heard about that organised chaos video, I'll have to check it out ('cos I am always joking about how I am consistently inconsistent). And omg, a half lined/half dotted notebook?! That could be fun! Thank you for sharing all of this delicious info and your lovely journals with us. x

Yes! "Settle in" is how I feel too. I couldn't jump in even if I wanted to 😅 My brain just needs a lotttt of time to "get with the program." I linked the video in the description, about living a chaotically organized life! Thanks for reminding me, I kept forgetting this whole week, hah.

I've got one Vietnamese tarot deck at the end of 2024, "Ocean from the sky" by Natsumi and I definitely fall in love with the deck, it's gorgeous, soft and tender. I was not sure how to use at first, but after I tried a couple times, it's easy reader and very accurate. 😍

Amazing video, thank you so much, I feel completely inspired to add more visuals to my Tarot Journal, mine is just writing, yours are so beautiful. This is the type of content I enjoy most, when people share their practice, I honestly got so many ideas from this video. I loved how you studied The Muse Tarot, it made me look at the deck in a completely different light. I will confess I had to change the playback speed to 0.75 to catch all the information, I think that's a US versus Europe thing, I'm very slow at taking in information too. I'm off to make my Tarot Journal pretty❤
@tangytarot4 сағат бұрын
Adding visuals is great! It started with printed photos for me, then evolved into so much more 😀 I used to cram so much writing into a single page. Now I understand the value of spacing and visual diversity. Even little drawings or patterns can break up the monotonous look of paragraphs upon paragraphs. I have gotten feedback about speaking quickly! It's tough for me to slow down in the moment when I feel excited to babble. I'm glad the information was still useful for you, even if you had to slow it down. 😊 I hope your experimenting with your journal is fun & insightful!

I have so many decks to study. I bought these thin journals from Barnes&Nobles just to encourage me to study more. I used to use my planner for my card readings at the weekly section just to use some of my decks but I don't follow through as often as I like (work/life). I won't get rid of any deck because I appreciate all I have (and I'm not a collector of anything else, except books hehe). I'm a learner always in need for something new to learn so... I'll get to them lol. Thank you for sharing
@tangytarot3 сағат бұрын
Using my planner for card readings, I feel that! I was just thinking about doing that for this next week too, because I have a lot of space in my weekly sections and I like ✨calligraphy✨ And yes, we will always get to those decks in the future, even if that time isn't right at this exact moment 😊

I have enjoyed your deep dive videos; I hope to spend some dedicated time with Gentle Tarot when my My Friend Fire comes for sure. 💜I love that you deck studied with friends. I've done a bit of this - like, read the guidebook and then chat about it, or get together to swap readings with the same deck, and it's always been very illuminating + super enjoyable. sacred incantations is SO special. It's a slow one for me - I can't do a spread with it, it's an altar card or an "I'm a mess and need support from one card" kind of deck. I am glad it has made its way out in the world and I'm glad to hear they're hoping to print it again.
@tangytarot4 сағат бұрын
My disappointment was immeasurable when I went to order more as holiday gifts for friends, and saw Sacred Incantations was sold out! 😭 Swapping readings with the same deck is fun, yeah! It's cool seeing how we interpret cards and symbols differently.

I really related to this video. I started a tarot “reflective” journal last year. It has changed from writing whole pages from a tarot spread to mixing oracle cards and incorporating every card into a story. Then that didn’t work for me after a couple months. Now, I am bringing crafts and art journaling into my practice. It’s a never ending learning process which I know will always be a part of me. Thanks for sharing your views and thoughts. Keep expressing yourself. I am also Asian 😉

In my experience, the only people who get annoyed about the mention of diversity already see themselves represented, and that’s all that matters to them. I saw a rant the other day, complaining about alternative two of cups cards. She didn’t like the fact that a deck came with options for same-sex couples.

100%!! People of all genders, sexualities, etc. exist & it's pretty limiting to only feature one type of person in a deck!

Sarah, Your journaling videos are so fun and packed with great ideas! Here’s a too-long list of my process: I’ve been super into the small Field Notes journals, even though they kind of hurt my hand 😂. Sometimes i turn them sideways. I use them for things like health tracking, poems I like, and documenting special events. they’re so portable! I also somewhat consistently keep a long-term collections journal (inspired by your video last year!) in my Leuchtturm 120g. So excited to use it for years to come. None are colorful or pretty 🥰 I use the Daylio app for mood tracking, mundane photo uploads(like a picture of my packed lunch), and gratitude. I don’t journal every day. Then the Trello app/site for task maangement, which I do use daily! Also, I *really* need to look into that advice on transitions 😅 Thanks for sharing!

I have a such a mixed relationship with planners but I like the look of that Just Scribble one, despite often finding dated planners stressful for the most part. The Just Scribble planner is set up very similar to how I do my bullet journal whenever I'm using one, the other half of the time I just run my life off my phone (notes app and alarms/timers) because it feels less anxiety inducing thank having stuff set 'in stone' (aka, written on paper). I do however, absolutely love a notebook, sketchbook or journal and use them all the time. Really enjoyed getting a look at the various books you have worked with. Also, so cool that you made some of your own journals, book binding is so much fun (especially making junk journals). x
@tangytarot10 күн бұрын
Setting alarms & timers is great, yes! I like setting & forgetting them - don't have to worry about them until they pop up & blast my eardrums with "Get in the car now! get in the car now!" 😂 If only paper could do that too... Book binding really is fun!! That fixation has died down a bit haha, but I still have all the info I devoured these past couple of months 🧠

I feel you on processing the pressure of 'forced socializing' and performing for relatives, oh my goodness. 💜 I have all kinds of feelings about holiday season but I love that now, at the age I am, in the position I'm in, there is zero of that -- I visit my immediate family briefly, but mostly the holiday season is onesie pyjamas, books, and leisurely time off work. It feels freeing I think precisely because of those pressures before. I hope you get to have some restful rejuvenating time off this season!

My mother-in-law and father-in-law exchanged letters when he was stationed in the Pacific, during WWII. And my husband inherited those letters, but only the letters send by my husband's Dad to his Mom, due to security reasons, he couldn't keep the letters send to him by his wife and he didn't return them to her, because they never thought that his letters would be kept and passed on to another generation. These one sided letters reveal a love story during that war time. Now, I know the deck I would like my husband to buy me for my Birthday in mid-January. And I know he will be as interested in this historical deck with the vintage stamps, as I am from watching this video. Thank you for sharing.

Love all of this. I’m going to expand on trans history here - most Indigenous Nations had 3 or more genders. For many of us, they are spiritually important. Trans right are also decolonial Indigenous rights. ❤ Love this convo on this tag so much. I also like that you made it oracles. What a fresh revamp.

100%! The separation of gender and culture (and/or gender and spirituality) is a colonialist illusion. I've just added some books by two-spirit folks to my to-read list; I hope to get to some of them in this next year! I think I have a romance oracle deck by the creator of the Quen tarot. Or maybe it’s just by the same publisher I’m not sure but it’s very pretty. I don’t have it with me but I’m pretty sure it’s called the Gatsby oracle. Their drawings are so soothing. Also I’ve had my eye on that Mam tarot since you showed it. I love a food deck 😂

Food decks are just scrumptious! 😍 I'm not 100% sure how many oracle decks Duy Khanh Vo (creator of the Quen Tarot) has created. I just peeped at his instagram and saw he's created TEN tarot decks though! I'm amazed!! I did find a Gatsby Love and Wisdom Oracle, created by H. Estrella Montien, PhD!
