There's one character I am both excited and scared at the same time to see in this live-action series of Avatar TLA: Koh the Face Stealer. I mean... that scene from the animated series was already creepy enough... Now, can you imagine it in live-action? We will have Koh with his centipede-like body, crawling around, and changing faces as he blinks. Not to mention how Koh tries to cause Aang to make a facial expression. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that, after being dragged by La into the Spirit World, Zhau would have his face taken by Koh as punishment for killing Tui.

Life's been crazy and I havent tuned in since LOK, but it's so nice to see how much you guys have grown and how elevated your setup is now. My favorite part was like a very very split second where they show Aang airbending right after they show Jun and Heibai. The combination of the frame on a beat with the sound design and bending gave me chills. Cant wait to watch this with you two!

I can't let myself get too excited since live actions almost always lose all of the charm and execution of what made the original great, but at least this version cared enough to let firebenders create fire and earthbenders to be able to move more than a pebble with the help of a group. So at least it's better than any other live action Avatar recreation so far. It's an extremely low bar to clear, but the show clears it so far.

Yea the whole losing its charm was something that had me especially worried about sokka, cause obvs that cartoon humor is pretty much impossible to translate to live action without looking ridiculous. But the way they handled that (at least in the trailer) by making it more of a sarcastic humor instead of goofy definitely works and makes me think/hope they actually know wt they’re doing

I don't think it's even Omashu that we see briefly, I'm pretty sure it's the Northern Air temple because you can see the green glider used by the wheelchair kid fly down just before Aang.

I'm pretty sure their gonna set Tao and the Inventor in Omashu instead. If you look at the Omashu from the teaser and then look at that shot in this, it is the exact same city layout with the giant slides. It makes practical sense in live action to merge episodes into one location where possible to avoid travel whiplash for the viewers; given they only have 8 plus to work with, plus the sheer cost of everything was likely best put into making quality over quantity. But it does make me wonder how/if they are going to handle the internal anguish Aang is feeling over seeing time erode what few bits of his people and culture are left, since that was the main point of visiting the Northern Airtemple.🤔

Personally, my favorite part was seeing those heartwarming/funny scenes of the gaang. It lets me know that they’re keeping the essence of what made the animated series so great ❤

I literally cried watching the trailer, after what they did with the movie, my only wish was for this to turn out well, and apparently they did! The show that marked my childhood and that has continued to mark my life as an adult finally has the live action version it deserves!

My only little complaint with the trailer is that Zuko's scar didn't really do it for me. It just looked like someone punched him in the face and gave him a shiner. Perhaps a little more special effects makeup could be added to make it look more like a severe burn wound, more like in the face reveal of Anakin as Vader in the Kenobi series (or something like that). That's pretty much it though. Everything else pretty much seemed perfect and I'm now really excited to see how they handle the series. (especially the bending - so SO much better than in that one movie) (Remember when it took an entire troupe of earthbenders aggressively breakdancing for several minutes just to move a small rock several feet? Pepperidge Farm remembers. But now we have THIS!? I'm seriously hyped for this now!)

2023 was a great year for adaptations, especially for Netflix (One Piece, Scott Pilgrim Blasts Off), so I feel like this series should be in good hands.
