I have these in a 10x52 and I notice 2 things. A big full image, very bright, very sharp image out to like 250 yards, the focus knob is narrow meaning if you move it even slightly it will be out of focus. For the money I LOVE these. I’m considering also buying the 12x52’s but I’ve heard they’ll be difficult to use

@@biggiesmalls3083 I agreed with these guys and other reviews that there is a noticable improvement from the BX-2 over the Vortex Diamondback HD. I did a side by side in the store (a huge scheels) that didn't show the end of day light of course but did show a difference in contrast and a little edge sharpness IMO.

Sooo i find it odd that you guys went this far to review all of these binos and didnt understand the "warmer colors" with leupold since... you know... they have the "twilight" feature of being able so see things in much lower light levels which the carsons cant. Its almost like you missed the point of the leupolds being basically hunter specific...

I appreciate your review and the effort you guys put into these reviews/comparisons. That said, the only thing I would have enjoyed seeing is what comes with the binos in the box. It seems to me that Leupold and Vortex are both providing some good and useful stuff in the box, such as neck strap, bino case, etc.

My girlfriend bought me a pair of Leupold 6x30 Yosemite’s. I never was a binocular snob. I grew up with K-Marts and Jason’s. I am a changed man but am still trying to wrap my head around the Alpines and McKenzies being even better
@strat1080
@strat1080 2 жыл бұрын
Those Yosemite 6x30 are really good. I own them along with the Vortex DB 8x32 and Leupold Alpine 10x42. I find a 6x and 10x are a very good combination for different types of hunting. Those Yosemite 6x30 were my first decent pair of hunting binoculars. At times I felt needed more magnification in really open country so I tried the Vortex DB 8x32 but was kind of disappointed in them. I then bought the Leupold Alpine 10x42 and am very impressed with their clarity and low light performance. The Yosemites are my still hunting binoculars in wooded terrain while my Alpines are my open country hunting binoculars. Those Yosemites are very hard to beat for what they cost.

The BX2 is pretty close to the BX4 and closer than you could ever imagine. For the price of the BX4 you may be better off with a Tract Toric instead. Or Vortex Razor HD (if they're still made in Japan) have a friend or relative in law enforcement or military or first responders line of work active or retired to buy it for you for 40% off at Expert Voice. The Meopta HD is another option for under $400 and made on Europe not China.

Gonna throw my opinion in here. 8x42, 10x42 or 10x50 are all decent options for hunting. It really depends on where you are hunting, and what you need. But these are typically going to be your best option, because they offer plenty of zoom, while staying in a form factor that is light and easy to carry on your body. Also, staying in that 42-50 objective lens size offers a good field of view, and good low light quality.

Something with a zoom such as a 7-21x magnification zoom. I have a very old vintage Tasco 7-21x it's a lot better than the fixed single power magnification binoculars these days when used for hunting for sure. @whk3834
@whk3834 4 жыл бұрын
@@reedcoon2230 I paid 100 bucks for them and at that price they blow other things out of the water. I have come to find that the BX-1Mckenzie 10x42 nocs don't have enough eye relief to be great while wearing glasses. They are awesome otherwise. They are clear and bright for their price point. I looked through some 10x52 BX-2 Alpine nocs and some Vortex diamondback 10x42's recently and the BX-2's in that size were a pretty clear step up from the BX-1. During Cabela's trade in sale it was possible to get the BX-2 10x52 for about 190 bucks. The vortex maybe had a slight edge in definition, like you could see a few more individual hairs on an animal across the store in Cabela's, but the BX-2 was way brighter (mostly due to the size difference probably). The BX-1 is a good binocular for it's price especially on sale, but I would step up to the BX-2 if you can. Highly recommend looking for near 19 mm of eye relief if you wear glasses.

@@reedcoon2230 I couldn't say I haven't looked through them but if I had to guess I'd say probably. If you can, go look through both. But if you can get the bx-2 in 8x42 it will be better than both the BX-1 and the crossfire for sure. You only lose a small bit of magnification with the 8 but you gain exit pupil light and eye relief usually. Also it's just better glass and in my opinion better low light coating on the BX-2 than the other two.

@blakebeverly5563
@blakebeverly5563 4 жыл бұрын
Kevin Tolbert Their rangefinders have a two year warranty because of the electronic aspect of the instrument. The electronics will fail before the body and glass on their rangefinders. But, don’t let this detour you on getting a rangefinder from them. I bought a Leupold rangefinder several years ago. Back when angle compensation just came out. They finally crapped out in 2109. I had them forever and used the shit out of them. I sent them into Leupold for “repair” knowing they’d never be able to because they were so old. So they contacted me and offered me the latest and greatest model at a ridiculously discounted price. I was needing new ones anyhow so it was a no brained. That’s why I’ll always use Leupold optics. Unlike another brand that only sells and boasts off of their warranty. Leupold has the same warranty but, it’s rarely needed.

Regarding rangefinders and rangefinder binoculars, I have no idea why anyone would waste their money on anything without a real lifetime warranty. Leupolds only 2 years on electronics, Bushnell only one year, that's of their actually honor their warranty, SIG and Trijicon only 5 years from date of manufacture NOT date of actual purchase, Nightforce only 3 years, Zeiss only 2 or 3 years and many other brands people think have a lifetime warranty but nope not their electronics.
