Your lessons are extremely helpful! I've learnt so much from you! شكرا And maybe you could make a video about verbs of movement and how to use them in different contexts and tenses (present, past, future)? Such verbs as go, come, walk (go for a walk), arrive, leave, etc... I'm sure lots of people have difficulty with them and we'd be so grateful!

How different is this from the Syrian dialect (which is what I wish to learn)? Your teaching methods are so clear and helpful but I don't want to confuse myself by mixing up dialects. Thank you.
@LearnLevantineArabic4 жыл бұрын
There are minor variation between the different Levantine Arabic dialects. There are some nuances in the way words are pronounced, and sometimes certain words differ. However, they are mutually intelligible. I would say you can learn from these videos because the concepts, and the structures are the same although it's not specifically Syrian. In the end, it's your choice if you find this approach suitable to your needs.

Great video, Thanks, I pretty much have the conjugations down BUT I struggle with pronouncing the B in bti'raf... native speakers say it so light I hardly hear it and when I try to say it, it sounds so heavy. My teacher tells me to pronounce it with an Alif in front to help like ib-ti'raf but i think it should unauthentic. Well i hope practice, practice, practice will help me improve. Any tips ?
@LearnLevantineArabic6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Listen and practice so you can nail the pronunciation. Your teacher's tip is great! Say both the (alef) and (ba) very lightly. Natives also insert an (alef) before words with two consecutive consonants. Best of luck! Make sure to let me know of your progress :)

Great video. I only see one small mistake at 4:33 it’s بيعرف instead of بعرف
@LearnLevantineArabic6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! It's not a mistake.. we say both بعرف with a short vowel or بيعرف with a diphthong.

*Mar7aba, I have two questions please: 1) At about **3:00**, is the active participle always an adjective? 2) Can the active participle be used in the past tense too, for example "I WAS GOING home? Shukran*
@LearnLevantineArabic6 жыл бұрын
The active the participle mostly functions as an adjective or a noun. It can be used to indicate the past through adding the verb "kan - كان". For instance, "kunt ra-yeH" means I was going.
