Came across your video, great content and vid...however one question I can't seem to get answered on level 2 is on the time and sales part...if you look at certain sales or buys they are highlighted almost and sometimes look grouped together as they were like 1 sale or buy vs other sales or buys don't have this highlighted look to them. This is only in the time and sales box on level 2 webull. New trader and trying to learn. Ty again for the great video.

Ok this might be a dumb question but what I’m confused about is the red and the green on Time & Sales. I know green = buyers and red = sellers, but for every buy - there’s a sell. So, what how is something considered a sell or a buy then? If it drives the price up its green and vice versa?
@LoneWolfSniperTrading
@LoneWolfSniperTrading 3 жыл бұрын
hi Marc, that's not a dumb question at all, it's actually a very good questions. This might be a bit confusing at first, because it is inversely related. What do I mean by inversely related? Well, when the T&S shows GREEN, it means orders are being filled on the ASK, meaning the price is moving upwards. And when the numbers are RED, they are being filled on the BID, meaning the price is moving downwards. The flashes of WHITE prices on the T&S means a person decided to buy (or sell) between the bid and the ask (within the spread) and that can be done through a market order (wanting to get in or out immediately at the current price), as oppose to submitting a limit order.
@Jaysnipes

12:48 I see how there were big sellers especially at 3 dollars, but inevitably it pushed up anyways. Had it resist would you say, it was due to that large sell order? That seems like guessing. I couldn't see how order flow help. Now had it pushed up after seeing an order for 3m buy at 3 that would be interesting, but that doesn't exactly mean it would continue up right? Not seeing how order flows edge in making trading decisions.

Can you explain how to read level 2 when is a good time to buy or sell a position base on the bid/ask prices.
@LoneWolfSniperTrading
@LoneWolfSniperTrading 3 жыл бұрын
Hi 101, for example, say the first BID is 4.95$ and the first ASK is 5.00$. This means that the spread of the stock is 5 cents. Say the price of the stock is currently sitting at 4.99$ (within the spread, within those 5cents) and its moved up from 4.98$. This means the current price is moving closer to the ASK, and depending on how big the ASK is, price has the possibility of hitting resistance/ceiling/wall at 5$; or moving up higher, if it breaks above that wall. That’s where you’ll have to read the BID. If the bids/buyers have suddenly moved up from their 4.95$ bid, closer to the 5$, to meet the sellers on the ask, and we look back at the ASK, and we see them decreasing, then with enough influx of buyer volume, we may break above that resistance/wall. And that’s just for breakouts, when we anticipate the stock is going up higher by breaking resistance levels. Buying the dip is inversely similar, we are seeing if there is enough bid support or buyers at an area of value when the stock is going down. That’s when you make the decision, will the probabilities stack in your favor. Smh I wrote an entire essay hope this helps
@eYeZiQ
@eYeZiQ 3 жыл бұрын
@@LoneWolfSniperTrading Very helpful indeed! I wish I were able to read further out though, to predict trends an hour or two ahead. It's tough to add up the math and figure which side is likely to win out, especially when it's shuffling so quickly. Aargh! Could you explain what the shifting Y lines above the ask and bid indicate exactly? Is it volume at each $ level, or a price / volume weighted indicator on the y-axis? And what could I learn from steeper slopes? Thanks!
@LoneWolfSniperTrading
@LoneWolfSniperTrading 3 жыл бұрын
@@eYeZiQ to be able to predict trends that far ahead, you would have to use larger time frames. And even then, there is no way to 100% know the price of the stock exactly, just a prediction, or else we'd all be rich, but trading would be boring lol. You are correct, the shifting lines above the bid and the ask is referring to the volume for each price, though they are being added exponentially. For example, if there are 100 shares sitting on the first bid price of 7.01, and 200 on the second bid price of 7.00, then the line above will reflect a volume of 300 for the price of 7.00. So on and so fourth. Same goes with the ask. Therefore, you can see why sometimes a very STEEP illustration will appear with those lines, that's because suddenly there is a huge influx of volume, on either side bid or ask. It's just an illustration that sort of does help us visualize the level 2 in a different perspective.

hi Javier, they are white and standing still because at the time I recorded this video, it was over the weekend, and no orders go thru during that time.... check out the live example at the given time stamp. This is a good video. Thanks for making it. I do think it is above my level of understanding of how things work. I wonder if you can answer a question for me. Why do traders want to hide what they are doing? I would think that when knowing when people are buying is good because buying drives the price up. Same as with selling. So why the trickery manipulation with the intent to deceive?
@LoneWolfSniperTrading
@LoneWolfSniperTrading 2 жыл бұрын
Regular, retail traders, as you & me do not have the access to dark pools. It is the large institutions such as hedge funds which use them. They hide their large block orders in order to foot ahead of the general crowd. So once the general population begins to buy, the hedge funds are taking profits (selling). It is to some degree deceitful and manipulative. To better understand this, type in “Axe Capital & Dark Pools Trading Stocks Explained” by AK Fallible. His explanation helped me understand it a whole lot better. Thanks for watching, cheers 🥂

Thought I'd spend some time this weekend to learn a little about how to read the tape. You did well explaining it but I was lost. I would have said its going down at $2.50 and for sure at $3.00. There were no bids at $3.00 and then share price just jumped up. Where did all of the buys come from? People hitting the ask? I've tried learning this a few times and I don't think I'll ever get it. It all moves so fast and trying to watch everything and buy or sell at the same time is something I just cannot do.
