As our fellow kids would say, this tierlist is BASED. One thing I want to point out for DK is that after some testing (with haste mastery stats), frost and unholy put out the same damage in a 10-20s window (what an arena or bg incounter would be. Frost might be a little better). The only difference is that with unholy I did not use Apocalyspe, since frost doesn’t really have a burst window. So once every 2 minutes, unholy hits harder, but frost has a little more consistent damage output outside that 2 min window, and more cc (slow).

While I expected a controversial list, I think this shows both how good 20s look right now if you take out hunters, and how each spec can shine. Coincidentally, the list also works well from left to right in a given category, where the left side works in most contexts while the right side works only in certain contexts. I can't imagine an enhancement shaman going toe to toe with an arms warrior at 20 in a BG, but in the right context I can see how an enhancement shaman could step up. For every example I wanted to argue, I could think of a time when I faced someone playing the spec up to the tier level you listed. Well done!

I also realized the blindside talent only gives the chance for your MUTILATE to proc an extra extra ambush. but when your energy regen is at like 13/sec it gives you like a 3.8 second mutilate cooldown :D

In my experience versatility is way better than haste. Just keep slice and dice up and your golden. I'm also a huge fan of pvp talent maneuverability for both giving you an escape plan or keep you from getting kited right before a kill

I’ve been tooling around with a feral Druid atm, the bleeds are insane, then again I have like 60% mastery. Bite is good too. But I love spreading the bleeds and see ticks for 200-400

you have to play the feral at 29 so you have the cheap bite & faster dot build up. then its damage is consistent and crazy high, the bites go up to 4-5k

For Fury Warriors, should one use two 2h or two 1h? With a combat dummy and current weapons it seems Titans Grip is better… but thoughts?

Good stuff! I really enjoyed the video! But now you gotta do it again, and do “high tier” and “low tier”, you can sort them to your liking for the tier you put them in. ;) example: survival hunter is to the left of arcane because you feel it’s stronger, meanwhile unholy dk is to the right of frost because you feel frost is stronger. You sort them from left to right, (strongest to weakest for each tier) and if there’s enough in the tier then it’ll move down underneath it and start a new row, in the same tier.

After careful consideration I have decided to share my opinion on some spec placements. Let's start off with ret. If we are talking duels ret can most definetly win against any class with the right gear. However in a battleground setting more specificly in wargames they fall behind the other melee DPS classes in terms of CC capibillities. Their damage is kind of meh, they are hovering at about 250 DPS on average whilst having no game changing abillities. Their only hard CC is a 6 stun that will be trinketed 99% of the time. Their slow is good but again nothing gamechanging and the fact that they can easily be kited around because they have no hand of freedom at this level is just laughable. They might be a bit tougher to kill than the other melee DPS classes duo to their runeblade and wog heals but I would say they belong one tier lower. Now onto destro locks. I have recently started gearing an old warlock toon of mine and after some testing there's no denying destruction is superior to demo DPS wise they pull about 100-150 DPS more than demo. All duels against destro locks are one chaos bolt away from ending. And paired with a seduction succubus you are basicly on par with hunters. So yeah I would most definetly place them on the highest tier. Unholy DKS. So I would put unholy in the highest tier simply because they have everything that you could ask for except great healing. 2 ranged kicks if you count grip, strong burst, a dot, the abillity to copy an enemy spell, a spammable slow, you can talent into a stun. Anti magic shield and if you're an engineer frag. They are a hardcounter against any caster and are extremely strong in a competetiv arena/wargame setting. Holy Paladins I would put in S Tier no questions asked. They are basically immortal with the right gear, they can do decent damage and provide a lot of utillity with their dispells.

I agree with most of what you said. The only thing is there is literally only a handful of Destro Locks with the Grandfathered Succubus in this bracket. Yes if they have the GF'd pet they are on a tier with Hunters though. Outside of that, they are certainly lower as their damage is so hard to confirm (especially in a duel or arena). Unholy DK's are great. But they are definitely under Ret, Enhance and War. They do about the same damage as ret but a lot less survivability. And they do far less damage than Enhance and Warrior. Enhance in my opinion is the highest damaging melee dps at this level. They get rune starved too easily, and their heal is just bad. Holy Paladins are a walking army lol. Spec Stamina and Versatility and you are unkillable in a 1v1 setting. And yeah they have great damage for a healer. Overall pretty good take!

@@jrsavagey4918 Survival does more damage overall, but you need healers behind you as a survival. Also if people know how to play, half of the classes can outplay survival hunter, even if he is twink and they aren’t. No one can outplay MM in 20 bracket without a big dose of luck tho :D

As someone who just started gearing a level 20 vet MM Hunter twink - why are all hunters on the don't play tier? do they suck in these brackets or are they just too many of them already? I ask because I'm consistently doing highest DPS in dungeon runs so why the hunter hate lol

paladin I believe has hight utility it has lay on hands divine shield healing an op stung good dps and can heal 2 people at same time flash of heal with a lot of haste it’s pretty crazy what you can do and the damage yoy can take. If you put ret paladin on top holy should be same cause it’s has same utility plus the damage.

I just hit 20 with my first character in shadowlands (f2p currently with no plans to buy a membership even though it would make things wayyyyy easier) and chose survival hunter since it's the most fun hunter spec in my eyes and I wanted to play one, I'm currently running around mists of pandaria trying to find a way to get to the ilevel 28 green vendor everyone is telling me about, and then I start the long process of getting to all the dungeons I need to farm, finding someone willing to run them through, getting all the BiS gear, getting my enchanting and engineering up to get the enchants and thermal belt, and then finally getting all the gems I need, it's certainly a far more daunting process than just mail everything you need especially for me since most of this stuff I've never done before and just been lazy and bought stuff off AH and mailed it to other characters, haha.

Sure! Why not? We haven't really been able to point out anything crazy that's going to change the gearing aspect, but masteries or talents could make it so a specific class might have to re-gear for a different playstyle. We don't know yet though since there's not been an alpha

honestly, I didnt think any of the tanks at 20 were worth it, plus I don't know a lot about them. I think guardian can be viable, prot pally can be a decent healer, BM Monk is entertaining with its throws, warrior.... eh. DH is a good base sitter/FC

@@Kid_Charlemagne I ain't Cig, but some hellscream items are BiS. For a fury warrior without titan's grip you usually want cudgel of naralexx rare / epic proc as a mainhand. With titan's fury you can get crow wing reapers as an example for 3 socket. You also didn't say what druid spec but if balance/resto I'd say hellscream int main hand is BiS if you going for MH+OH as you should most of the time.

Problem is that 20s become a bit p2w since SL. Warrior without Crusader is useless and for a pure f2p its a pain to farm it, good socket are available easily for paid players, f2p can only get good pvp socket if they have agility as primarily stat. Chromie isn't available for a pure f2p so no tbc stuff. Oh also, Hunter fucking op even as f2p (also they got the only good socket available for marks of honour as they were not already op lol). That being said ofc Blizz don't care since you are not supposed to stay in 20s for ever but still.

Ok. I LOVE priest. Love all the specs and have mained all of them at one time or another...remember orbs? 🤣🤮 even have the Hellscream mace. So here's my question. If I wanted to alternate specs would I need different gear? Or is there a catch all that would work for everything? Btw, if you did a guide series I think you'd never run out of content. And maybe explain to the new peeps why hunter is frowned upon...even though I still mess with mine when I'm bored.

Gear differences are only required based on stat needs for each spec. So druid cant use the same gear for feral/guardian and balance/resto since gems are different, but balance and resto overlap a lot since they both need int gems. Priest can likely use a single gear set

It's on a 30 minute CD though I believe. It's literally been useful for me in BG's a handful of times. It doesn't pertain to duels, and can't be used in Arena. Overall it's biggest use is falling to your death out in the world. Saves you a trip running from the GY lol.
