It depends on how bad the queues are and how hard 29s can farm 20s. I'll probably keep playing my 20s on and off, just PvP less. I don't like endgame, so probably won't keep a subscription just to play 29s.

I just started making 20’s but haven’t geared any of them. I will probably just go to 29 on all of them personally. I never liked the idea of letting my sub die anyways. I Pvp endgame and miss the merged queues. This is progress towards full open queues for all brackets. If I had a choice I’d queue at 19 but 29 will have to do for the time being.

Just make 1 level 29 and don’t get carried away. As someone said here…don’t panic until u see the blue response for it. Keep your 20s or level one of yours 20s to 29 if you’d like. Think that would be the best option. Just incase it shifts completely to 29 twink lobbies. Cheers!

As someone who has hardly any time invested into current Vet 20s this kinda exciting just because of the fast queues and how easy it could be to setup characters, not having to wait for sub to drop. BUT I understand your pain because of all the work you've put in. I would give it time, the AH has been completely broken so and that's something they are actually paying attention to. Imo when they change stuff like this they aren't thinking of twinks at all, we're probably just collateral damage.

There are people that stay f2p twinking permanently it could be they’ve done this to have higher levels outcompete them and encourage them to pay but it could have the opposite effect and diminish numbers further

I admit, it’s not the best thing. But hey, it’s pretty cool to twink a lvl 29, I made a few already fully warforged geared. BG pops are take 5-10 mins in the evening, there’s still loads of F2P players playing. The bracket is 20-29 with F2P and locked XP players. Of course I prefer the F2P with lvling players, but what can I do 🤷‍♂️. If you need help getting into lvl 29 twinking I’m always here to help, I do lots of Draenor dungeons runs for warforged gear!

Just to be clear, f2p = players who are playing on their trial. Vet = players who are playing without a sub. levelers = people with a sub because they are playing on the full game. Essentially, new players getting shafted in pvp (they were already, but now it's without their levelers who have XP enabled).

Im actually kinda glad this is a thing i have a shit load of 25s that all got fucked with the lvl squish and now they aren't entirely useless, i still think 20s will be just as powerful due to how the scaling works so overall is see this as a positive atm. I can see tho that if 29s with locked xp become the norm/meta alot of the f2p twink players might quit :/ so that would be a reason to revert it back to how it was. NOTE I dont think this is as big of a problem as some people think since this still doesn't open up raids or anything like that to bracket.

Okay so this change hurts, but it's also sort of exciting. We all know 20's were destroying the bracket for levelers. So for blizzard this is a win/win. If the people who were free to play want to continue, they might have to purchase a sub for that account, which is more money for blizzard. And they are also helping the levelers who have been complaining. As for us though. It creates a certain bridge that does hurt a lot. I have spent a long time farming and getting gear for my Shaman. That being said, I am excited because this opens up a lot of new possibilities. I will keep my 20 for arenas and war games. But if these changes are permanent I will definitely be creating a new character that I can raid and PvP with. It's an entirely new challenge, and it opens up a tonne more possibilities for our community now. We can actually raid together, and have way more access to spells and talents, zones etc. I think this is actually a good thing personally.

This is only exciting for players like myself who played 70 twinks before the bracket died. The way I see it is the best option now would be to keep the bracket to xp off, raise the level cap, and open up other content for f2p for access to gear

Well....this has been the journey with retail and xp off for some time now. It changes every couple years. Characters become outdated and work done on them lost. I am hopeful for a Wrath Classic permanent option.

WT...they took away the Pan./Green gear...& they gave NO sub for the gear one has already gotten @ lvl 20. SOooo...WRONG. They should have grandfathered or gave some comp for the gear one has already gotten. I have full set of gr3eens on many of my toons from T. Stepp vendor. It now says one has to be lvl 21 to use. It all red gear...can't use or repair it.

Personally, glad to see this change. I like to level through battlegrounds on my alts. I don't do twinks mainly because I like to compete on an relatively even battlefield. Honestly, I don't see how it is fun to have one character blast another the way these 20s are doing. To me it's as having a high level character and going back to a mid-level Zone and wiping out Mobs with no to little effort.. that's not very challenging. I realize I'm the minority on this this topic, but it is what it is.

I’ve felt for a while that Vet accounts should just be placed into their own separate bracket for queuing. They let us play until lvl 20 and join BGs, is it our fault for not being able to gear to the point of a 29? I mean that’s how the game has worked for a while. I like playing my vet Sub Rogue that I’ve put HOURS of work into over the course of years. But hate it when people get all mad that I’m even joining BGs to begin with. Idk, at this point I could take it or leave it.

Well came back to the game for a bit to find out. Not only did they make all my socketed Tert boe's require level 21 now. so all my twinks are naked. Then they put the account against 29s even with all that they said - sorry subscribe or dont play??? God damn that is so - wow. Tried to just queue with some looms on f2p "you must subscribe" i guess THAT is the true end of 20s. GG whatever it was a fun ride.

it's seeing growth in leaps and bonds. I have been playing ascension for about 3 weeks and have made a level 70 toon with full current top pvp gear. I stopped playing WoW because the 20s bracket had basically become a PTW with the BIS being all super low drops that you can buy at the auction house, through paying for a few WoW tokens. I did that but the game was so explosive, the only strat was prop CDS and blow up your opponent before he blows you up in as little as 1-3 shot. It just got too ridiculous for me. Ascension wow is different. The spells have pretty much been nerfed and the game has other added mechanics, some main stats work differently, but it is fully customizable. Been through a lot of frustration, as it is a dissent learning curve, but i am understanding it much better now. They also have 1vs1 arena!!!!! and I would like to add I have not paid a penny so far. Nothing, so far, forces you to pay for anything.

Honestly, this just makes me less inclined to PvP, but I might still give it a go (figure I'm going to get wrecked regardless, so whatevs). I'm still going to do as much play through as possible on my F2P toons (I'm currently getting them "adventure ready"), and I'll use the toons I have staged to potentially become vets to go through the solo classic dungeon challenge I had planned to do on them once I've got them geared. Not to sound too flippant about it, but I still think there is fun to be had with 20s.

Well i've always had 2 accounts anyway. my vet account and my Main subbed account. Personally ill just stop logging the 20 account. probably transfer over the high level characters on it eventually and be done. I was a 19 twink that got demerged. then a 20 that got squished. i really don't care to both level and gear what a 3rd time. i get that you're always really gearing on a twink but man my thing with twinking and honestly Commander if anyone know MTG is its a separate entity from the parent dev. In that i feel i have more control over what make my char and meta. just feels a little tainted and gross when the bbeg puts his fingers in the pudding and ruins it for everyone. might make a 29 on the main just to see if i can spot familiar faces but thats about it. I am a fan of twink pve but 10s and 11s are far more fun for pressing times and seeing what consumables get me to the end quick. might use my 20 bear for pve but its a hard maybe. Twinking always get's nerfed or killed enchants get degraded or removed from game. Players always wine about how it is not fair, forgetting twinkers spent 100 thousands of gold in a character. Guess the only solution for the F2P guys is get a sub and start some 29's. WoW has always been a subd game if you can't afford it always private servers I only just learned of the F2P community because of you cig and didn't realise how big it was I just spent a month making two level 20 twinks paying thousands of gold in the process for endless runs to get what I wanted and it's all been for nothing at this point ... But blizzard will always look out for the subs over F2P - (money money money) But I do believe It's a good thing they took the leveling characters out. It's not fair they get bombed (especially the first time players) because others are decked out and ruin the experience for them. If anything this will save numbers subd to the game which is a positive thing My heart does go out to the F2P community and I sincerely mean that. I know I was harsh in my opening but it's always been a paid game for a reason .. if you can't afford it or don't want to sub might be time to move on to something more suitable - Plenty of games out there guys don't forget that 😀

i think its fine. vets were OP anyways in the pure 20s bracket over f2ps. its just that much of a difference within what, 1 or 2 new abilities? arenas are gonna be awkward for sure, but bgs are still gonna be vets or 29s pub stomping

The difference in damage between a warrior 29 with a vet is abysmal, the 29 reaches up to 200k more, the vet up to 70-100k with a healer next to him. Not to mention the stun for example or the double target wield with its 79 strength proc and double crossed

I have a couple of twinks and I dunno I find it kind of funny. People just have to suck it up and play on or dont. I would have preferred a level 20 twink queue only as its clear there is a community there. But as someone who also levels a lot in pvp Im glad they have been removed from the levelling bracket. Until then suck it up - ive seen countless amounts of flex vids on youtube from 20s taking great delight in deleting levellers in a couple of hits. The shoe is now firmly on the other foot and we are the small guys in the bracket

yup! if you want to twink and actually enjoy pvp, go play wotlk, If you're okay with being a PVE twink, I think 10/11s are the way to go now, pvp doesn't really exist in DF for twinks right now

i just played 20 again and it was bullshit. they completely destroyed F2P and as a 10+ year veteran of wow I feel betrayed. the 20-29 twink bracket is sacred, why wouild you ever think it was a good idea to do this? Shows that the business decisions are being made by people SO OUT OF TOUCH

I don't understand why people are complaining about having wasted their time making twinks, which are now useless, well doesn't it happen every expansion, or major patch where they add new gear to the brackets? I bought 3 WoW tokens for 20 twinks, knowing that at least by the next expansion, the gear would be useless again, as it always happens.
