the hero names / item names are developers character names they made for lore you can get this info from other interviews. hope that helps.

Aye, I started just abit before Kunark came out. Then left after gates of discord I believe. I always think about EQ though. I have played it again more recently, on live servers where everyone is level 110? 120? I miss old eq though

Enjoyed this video. I started playing summer of 2000 also (same age as you), and remember buying the expansion and installing it, don't remember reading those letters though. I was a bit further in levels when Velious launched (I think 50ish), and this is the first time I've seen the boat, since I was ported there. Was quite the adventure

I've been slowly working my way through your walkthrough videos. I didn't play EQ back in the day, but I briefly played on Blue a few years ago -- not long, just enough to get an Erudite cleric to level 8 or so. This series has definitely been making me want to get everything set-up for P99 and give it another go, although maybe on a better soloing class, since I can't always commit to the play times required for grouping.

@@SageFreke1 I have a few technical issues I need to work out first, but I definitely think I'm going to if I can get everything working on my current machine. Is there any real difference between Green and Blue for leveling at this point with both Kunark/Velious out on Green?

Green typically has more players online and it's easier to find groups at lower levels. The economy is also a little more traditional since stuff hasn't been out forever, although as time goes on Green starts to look and feel more like Blue. I'd still suggest Green

Cool video! I loved how you kept switching themes whenever you talked about the various figures. The Kael throne room when talking about Tormax and so on. That was a nice touch. Always liked the lore and aesthetics of Velious. I could hang in Thurgadin for hours with all the tunes (seriously check out the Velium Keg lols) and all the tradeskilling options. Only part of Velious I disliked was the feeling that you weren't really welcome without a reliable group. There honestly isn't a lot to solo there and every single worthwhile quest and zone to hunt in requires you to have people to call upon. I guess it could be argued that it's just EQ in general, but idk, Velious just seems to ramp that feeling up to 11. Looking forward to seeing you enter ToFS. That place is practically made for you. xD

Hmm I have not encountered that, did you check the P99 forums? They have a lot of good troubleshooting advice over there

You are using Launch Titanium to load P99 and not the EverQuest icon right? You don't run the patcher for the actual game.
