This is why they are one of my favourite bands. All of them are multi-talented. Phil was a pianist turned drummer, Mark was drummer turned bassist. Mike was also percussionist. Boon was boon :) When they created this music they put all their knowledge into each song like 43. But here you can see the talent of all of them working in sync with each other. One of the tightest bands ever.

You've got that one right, mate. 'Level 42' are one of the best 'Live' bands on the planet and they keep proving it time and time again. Mindblowingly brilliant.

what a band, funk, rock, pop, jazz, progressive, all in one. And we have to remember that Mark King is a drummer too

One of the best funk/jazz bands ever!! Deserve waaaay more recognition.
I'm only 28 years old, I found these guys after picking up bass guitar (as you might imagine haha) I grew up listening to punk, rock and was a dubstep dj for about 12 years. Level 42 has become my favorite band easily, they are simply so fun and astounding musicians. That drum section in the breakdown of the song was out of control. I've been trying to master this song on bass for over a year an jeeze it's still a work in progress.

I have been a fan since ‘85 or so and though the Status bass looks great the graphite neck combined with the ultra thin strings Mark uses makes it sound so thin. Live it’s really difficult to hear the great stuff he is playing, which obviously is a shame.

I first heard about you guys when I was living in Europe, in the early 80s in the military. Mark's slapping bass guitar is awesome - it reminds me of Stanley Clarke. Magical sounding - the pounding thunderous deep drums. In Europe, I bought a Sonor Signature Series drumset (w/West African Bubinga wood shells) Roto-toms, Zildjian, Paiste and Meinl symbols. Thank you so much for inspiring me, from the very beginning.
