Level 42 A Pharaoh's Dream (Of Endless Time) Bass Yamaha E1010 test Vox Standard Bass

Just got a vintage Yamaha E1010 for an early birthday/xmas with huge thanks to my fiancée! Thought this would a good track for the first demo as this was at the peak when Mark King was using this Yamaha too, I've not used any other effects apart from the E1010
You can only hear my bass on this as I removed Mark's using the Moises app, which is pretty good, but not brilliant for picking up slap bass tones...
Just a test run to see how it sounds, ignore my beard and hair, I know it needs a trim, especially all that grey haha

Super sound that Yamaha bass, and super gift ! You play so tight and with such relaxation that i would almost want to say: come on Mark, get out of this body ! Feel like Boon's guitar comes out better on your version, and it's good to hear

Thanks mate ever so much! I've tried to relax more as I've got older on my playing, but it's not always the case! Using the software to delete the bass may have enhanced Boons guitar a bit, I'm not sure! I'm loving the Yamaha, can't wait to put it through its paces with the Jaydee 🥰

@JBass42 its also good to use a good quality di box/preamp for boosting the pre signal out of the e1010 into the amp second box from ur bassamp to desk ... as I found that the output level from the e1010 was way too low in volume and having to wck the fx up to full it distorted and messed with the quality 😳.....something to think about if nubcome across this prob

I think Mark had the e1010 going into a lil pre amp ..or even a compressor so he could boost the single...don't know why the output was so low on the e1010s ....

@@JBass42 cool! I’ve never played a Jaydee but fancy buying one…can you get a good deeper tone from them like a Precision etc or is it all Mark King mids? What’s the neck pickup like fingerstyle? 👍

@@supersteveworld it can have very deep sub tones as well as lovely mids and extreme highs if wanted. Necks are lovely, I've had 3 in the past and the one on order will never be sold, it's a custom Series 1. Jaydees don't come up often for sale so if you are in the market be quick if you spot one, prices have increased alot over the last 2 years. . Fingerstyle sounds good on all pick up selections, and as the pick ups are P's underneath that soapbar cover they've got a lovely gritty tone
