Mark King, best solo bass player back in the day, he slaps that guitar like it owes him money! 👍

I grew up on Level 42! Great band. 😎 I would class their music as UK Jazz Funk.

The bass player is Mr Mark King, a master of slap bass.

Nice, some UK jazz funk, probably the best track from that period is southern freeze from freeze

I'm from the UK and grew up with Level 42. Saw them live several times around SE London. Fantastic group and their music never grows old. Listening to Love Games while watching this gorgeous girl smiling and loving the song was such a delicious combination. Thank you.

Level 42 opened for Madonna on the Who's That Girl Tour. I currently have "Something About You" and "Lessons in Love" on my gym playlist.

Another Rabbit hole found. This band is FIRE! They come from the UK. They have had masses of hits in Europe. The bass player/ singer is called Mark king. I love something about you and running in the Family. Great patroons pick.

Damn, great pick by someone! Back then I had a friend who was a working musician, had a music degree from USC, and lived & breathed music. Level 42 was his favorite band. He said they just played so perfectly.

Wow. Great pick Patron! I only know their Lessons in Love song. This song is fire!! Good job!

My favorite band of all time. You can't go wrong with this dynamic band. They hold a special place in my ♥️. The lead vocalist Mark King is also the bass player. And the keyboard player Mike Lindup sometimes is lead vocalist using his high falsetto. On this song Love Games which is a classic they collaborate. The original other band members on drums are Phil and on guitar Boon Gould. They are brother's. Rip Boon 🙏

Re-watching this 😊. So good, when you discover a track and it makes you move and smile from the getgo. There's a great, live performance of this (and others), from the 80's, in Germany (Rockpalast Festival). It's on KZbin. Definitely worth your time. Brilliant live! God bless ya

Level 42 are amazing, you would be hard pressed to find a band with technically better musicians. They had some fantastic tracks including this one. 😁👍

A band called Toto Springs to mind. The tracklist they could put on the table is astonishing.

@@berikdahl Toto couldn't even polish Level 42's shoes. Toto is great, don't get me wrong, but Level 42 is on a whole other Level (see what I did there... I'll leave myself out the room)

This was before they had American success with the 2 pop hits! This song does sound dated with the falsetto harmonies and disco keys, but it’s got the groove that doesn’t stop and that’s what I love. Their Top 40 hits that they released here in the 80s were nowhere as good as this. Thanks for playing it! That’s my birthday pick!

Another great bass player is Nick Beggs, played with Kajagoogoo.

I can tell you love a good bassline 😊 Likewise! Mark King (Level 42) is a legend. Precision, style and class. If possible please check out Jamiroquai - Mr Moon. Or/and The O'Jays - For The Love Of Money (Live on Soultrain is great). Both great bassline-driven tracks. Thank you. God bless

If you want some more🔥basslines you should react to Duran Duran! Official video for Rio is a good start. That song is known for the bassline.
