Tragic that three of the band's guitarists have died. Boon, Alan Murphy and Allan Holdsworth. RIP All of them.

All of them have reached Level Infinity.

Happy memories. During the adverts before the performance, I asked Mark to wear the badge he is sporting on his lapel. It says 'Cartoon' which was the name of the band I was in at the time. Mark King Gentleman!

Saw them around this time on the World Machine tour, Royal Court Liverpool, still one of the best bands I've ever seen live 👌

I miss the '80's when people could wear adventurous clothes and had plenty to smile about. There was a positivity that has diminished in favour of reality TV, social media and a lack of respect for each other. What a shame.

Saw them very many times, like an addiction, last time was in Bournemouth '92, never ever disappointed with their professionalism.

Huge huge fan of Level 42! - The first band I "locked on" to when I was a kid during the release of the Running in the Family album before, well... Toto entered my orbit! 😁 It is with great satisfaction [not to mention a little smugness] I can say that I have seen Level 42 perform live... must be about a dozen times. Opportunities to see them over the years has been plentiful as they tour the UK pretty much constantly, always entertain, always play amazing and Mark's voice is still really strong (and seriously, I mean like a god damned angel during the Sirens II tour).

Back in the day we took this for granted. No TV studio these days can be arsed to have a band with amps, monitors and microphones playing live any more. Fascinating to watch now!!

The Level 42 boys joined by Krys Mach on saxophone and additional keyboards and Annie McCaig on backing vocals.

Wow .. Boon's extra notes in his riff ... great ... Love the live performances vs lip sync. Thanks for posting!

One of the bands of the '80's. World Machine, A Physical Presence, Running In The Family and Staring At The Sun (with Alan and Gary) were all brilliant albums. Superb musicianship.

splendid to see an audience member rocking the air bass. (on his own, obviously)

Saw them a couple of times, Rock City, Nottingham when they were raw and powerful. Saw them a few years later with the original line up but had become polished and over produced. Mark King was awesome live, Boon and Phil were better than they got credit for.

You gotta laugh. Second time on The Tube and the vocals are still utterly drenched in far too much reverb. I don't remember this being the case for other live bands on the programme so I think ithe fault is actually at L42's end. Doesn't bother me, hey it's live!!

Mark was/is an incredible musician, not so much singer.
@johnlawrence80074 жыл бұрын
@@Chrisamusic1 your probably right but he does have a unique voice that works perfectly with 42's style of music imo.

Was never a Krys Mach fan. Just had no phrasing to his solos. Sorry Krys!! Wish they toured with Gary Barnacle instead,
@beng1lh00ly4 жыл бұрын
gary did tour with them from 1990-1994 but always preferred krys' playing - especually on the a physical presence album!
