One of their best songs, so beautiful. When MK parks his slap style for a bit, he shows how much more there is to his musicianship. Great fingerstyle groove here. Thanks for sharing 👍💯

Level 42 has-been around since the 1980's. Now 40 years later they are as better as ever.
A simply beautiful song. Funky and melodic all at the same time. And Mark's vocals are just perfect here.

around 2:51 right behind the bell like synth notes you can hear what only string orchestras could do: pizzicato , plucking the strings on their violins and other viols

very fine song . there's also a touch of old brazilian bossa nova group singing w.o. words in it starting around 2:03 . makes up for what imho was missing from Level 42 at that time. And that something and someone was keyboard wizard and second singer, not always falsetto, Mike Lindup . There's one song in Level 42's long history whose title has been lost to memory . Mike Lindup "scat sings" to every note in the lead line he is playing on keyboard just like George Benson does while playing guitar
@stephenalanmoore72782 жыл бұрын
That could be the evergreen classic 'Love Games' that you are talking about there, as Mike scats quite a bit during the middle eight of that song. It was taken from their self titled 1981 debut album 'Level 42' and it became their first UK Top 40 hit, peaking at No38. Why not check it out on KZbin and see if I'm right?

Bass tone is very present on this track. Kingbass sounds cool, is it because Mark King is playing through a Trace Elliot stack? Great performance, vocals are great!
@nachtmensch20233 жыл бұрын
This music needs a low bass. Not only a "leadguitar-bass". ;)
