I wish I knew what all this stuff really did. Like primer? What is that exactly? How do you get critical hits? Is it better or worse than stagger? Quick sum up of smash/"whatever the other one" abilities. Or maybe it doesn't matter. I got to level 45 and smashed everything just by picking whatever sounded good.

Honestly with the combat in this game, there’s nothing wrong with that. In my opinion Stagger is awesome because it fills the purple bar up, and once that’s full you can do the Takedown moves that do amazing damage Primer is the term for the first ability in a combo with teammates. So primers are the first ability and detonators are the second.

The game literally tells you everything. It even has a glossary within the codex. You just need to actually read it.

Is there a consistent way to get your shield to bounce to other enemies on shield throw? A majority of the time, my shield just hits 1 enemy and comes back and I can't figure out why.

There’s skill you can take to do so, but you have to get the timing down properly
