Had a Warrior build going that focused on fire damage and stacks. Got them up to 10 stacks and each time you parry, it applied as many stacks as the amount of enemies around you at the time of parry. Each tick of damage dealing about 2k damage and duration of burn was maxed. Each time your parry or last attack in light combo resetting burn timer. Got the perk that allowed parry on Red and Yellow attacks. Made Dragons and other bosses beyond easy. No hit final boss parrying every attack and he just died overtime from burn.

I just finished playing through nightmare with a melee saboteur rogue. The only real difference is I swapped out pilfer for lightning flask and put the points from the archer side of saboteur into the the control and duration buffing nodes instead. This let lightning flask and the turret both add stacks to and refresh any afflictions on enemies. So of course I equipped the bleed sword and went to town. It melted the blighted dragon at level 40. Saboteur is a blast to play. 🤣

I found the warrior crit/bleed build amazing, relying on the 100% ability crit trinket coupled with the 5% damage leech armor.

Just finished this game in nightmare with rogue affliction build bleed and necro them and sit back sip some coffee while that damage ticking in.

For Reaper i actually found myself using Neve or Bellara more then Lucanis because I myself already was able to stack Necrosis and Bleed very effectively so all he brought was some extra damage as compared to Chill/Shocked that the other mages brought

The saboteur turret can go upwards of 2000 damage tho, not 800 like you have in video. You're investing into "ability damage" on the helmet, if you just remove that and put on the critical damage helmet, your turret (that only deals crits with the black maw ring) will double in damage from that single change.

This is a decent game but I really, really dislike the rarity upgrade system. Find the same item 4 or 5 times again is frustrating. I prefer the crafting system from DAI or like in Angry Dad: Ragnarok for a quick example. Much rather farm mats and then upgrade via the BS or via a static BOSS kill

I think this system works so that you can't have all the OP stuff to early and you have to progress the story to unlock some of the best stuff. Even uniques aren't the best choice for your build, they just provide a different style of gameplay. I prefer this then having to farm mats or figure out which mats give the best stats for my build and having to constantly remake weapons as I upgrade to better stuff.

Yeah I love how I completed every map 100% (except Dock Town, cause I didn't know the consequences, I still have all chests there, just not sure if there was more available before THE choice), every quest, and bought all needed stuff from vendors all over the world (including the one in docktown since it moves to the Crossroads) and I still don't have all equipment upgraded. I seriously have like 2 legendary helmets (out of what, like 5-6 medium helmets?) while doing last quest in the game.

There are also items that are literally worse when upgraded to legendary too. My poor dagger that carried me for so long literally became unplayable when upgraded.

My 1 playthrough was a Reaper Warrior and I was blowing away monsters 18 levels above me without much problem. Started a 2nd playthrough with a Mage and I'm getting cooked right now until I get a build online. It's MUCH harder 😂

Play blaster mortalitasi staff ray mage with life leach. Just hold RT and kill stuff in seconds even without detonations. Just get companions with mske weak to necrotic. Archon seer staff btw triples staff ray attack into three rays. It gets boring though, running warrior champion build for mixing things up.

​@@ethankeary3574 fr my first playthrough was easy as a mage. I barely died, was hitting hard from the start, kinda knew where to take the build and what to improve. As a warrior I died around 12 times to 4 experiments in the ossuary while doing the Lucanis recruitment quest. No damage and no defense. I play on nightmare so maybe thats it, but shit was driving me up the wall.

In the mage build, I'm curious how your frost nova costs no mana when you have the node that makes all skill cost 50 more mana? When I use that node it makes my frost nova cost 50. Am I missing something or did this get changed?

My spellblade has permanent 100% invulnerability 100% crit chance and every cast does 8k dmg. To be fair its pretty much doable with any class that uses blast skills with All-Mother's Copse or strike skills with crow's perch medallion and maw of the black city.

Of the three deathcaller has got to be my favorite, i like the skills a bit mroe with reaper but i just couldn't vibe with sheild and sword With deathcaller especially once you have the abilities you can basically build for full necrotic play with whichever wepaon you like, and it lets you offset weakness buy adding necrotic to other abilites too, honestly its a ton of fun

while I love the sab rogue, I hard disagree. With the right set up, you can be rolling in non-stop momentum generation (esp with Emmrich set up properly with quietus to generate momentum for you and the right gear/nodes). My duelist rogue kicks off combat with the rune that gives full momentum and then almost never runs out, able to back-to-back spam momentum-based abilities with zero cooldown while the screen melts. also the turret dies way too often in nightmare, and under so little hits, and has very bad AI (I saw it focusing on a wall instead of enemies in front of it and specced out).

I’m trying to use knight of staves trait on underdog difficulty currently on pc. It seems to be bugged and not working. Anyone else having this problem? At least the animation definitely doesn’t match what the tooltip is showing and the damage is kind of meh so I think it’s bugged

The damage cap really ruins some of the classes. Like Reaper and Champion are objectively better than Slayer because Slayer is trapped in the 9999 damage cap very early on. I'm sure there are slayer moves that could be hitting for multiple tens of thousands of damage if the cap was lifted. I would really love to see this and NG+ come into play. Shield Throw is also absurdly strong because you can double dip with your shield melee attack and hit enemies multiple times and also repeatedly hitting a charged shield keeps its charge seemingly so the 3 hit combo out of a charged shield throw is very powerful.

Reaper warrior build with rage generation will make nightmare a cakewalk trust me if you are struggling go full reaper then spam shield tosses its so easy

Can you do a video on what the best enchantments are for skills and stuff like that. More in depth number crunching stuff that isn't common knowledge. I think everyone can come up with a build fairly easily with the huge amount of skill points you get in the game, you can basically have every inner circle skill and your specialisation of your choice. Also runes? like what's good and what's not.

I personally much prefer spellblade over deathcaller. Has fire/lightning damage split so isn't as susceptible to bad matchups, has a super cheap detonation and guaranteed crits in void blade(25 mana), has constant damage and knockdown from tempest and constant damage from 7 stacks of burning and shock along with being able to also stack up 4 stacks of bleed and necrosis you also get guaranteed crit AoE arcane bombs which you can trigger basically constantly thanks to tempest full stacking every hit. It just functions so well against basically anything from small packs that get blown up by arcane bombs to huge bosses which just melt even if you can only run in circles dodging. You can also use channeled thoughts to restore mana and constantly use void blade for invuln... and there are items that allow you to leech health too so... not a deathcaller specific thing.

this is not the best build for Dath Caller There is a build for maximum ability gain from the amount of mana spent + stuff for the cost of HP instead of mana + a ring for 100% crit due to HP. All other gear is maximally for healing. As a result, explosive damage for mana cells, constant mana (because it is not spent), crazy healing with RMB + LMB (4k HP in 2-3 seconds) of stuff and damage of 2-3k crits from it. Corrupted Ground can citr for 6-7k btw as AOE.

You can play whataver you want even in nightmare. Its all about synergies between your build, items and companions. There was a few levels where I was playing frost spellblade in nightmare. Now at the end of the game I play frost/fire spellblade cause I simply got bored of ligthning. Almost constant full health, plenty of immunity, 5-6 buffs on me, 4 dots on enemy and pots are used mostly to buff me not to heal me.

@@paulb4480 Full health is gain by Researchers Coat, which gives 5/15 life leech. You stay immune by casting spells basically constantly. And you can cast them constantly with amulet that gives mana after blast spell crit and ring that makes all your spells crit at the cost of health (that you get all back with researchers coat)

If you really think Reaper has the highest sustain I really have to tell you to try using champion, that thing with the medium armor that heals you 5% per boon effect + the necrotic aoe is ridiculous on champion, you can stick to any target no matter what any opponent does so long as you don't suck with parries, and come out on top regardless of any situation, no sustain from your party needed at all, they are just there to help with detonations and that's it.

I do think a slightly altered Champion build would work better, you have enough points to dip into bleed and necrotic on top of fire and physical. Then as you said focus on advantages and that chest piece healing you and deflect to reduce damage even further. Champion offers a lot for what the game throws at you with all the Darkspawn and how OP perfect block and stagger is.

Im currently almost done my nightmare playthrough and honestly disagree on death called being the best on nightmare for mage, not only do you need to hit level 40 for it to come online which means you can’t use it all game, necrotic resistance is very common since dark spawn have it and are the most common enemies, and until the build is fully online any dark spawn turn a fight in which you only have necrotic damage into a complete slog, the spell blade with mages gambit orb can swap from fire to electric damage, effectively negating weakness as you always have an option and it can be optioned fairly early, and both the other specializations, evoker and spell blade have ways to do great damage, evoker with staff combos and strong control spells, and spell blade with arcane bombs, both also come online at level 30 instead of 40 like deathcaller. I really wanted to play deathcaller because I like the concept of necromancy, Sue me, but it’s genuinely awful in my opinion until you get it fully set up on nightmare which tends to be around level 40 Great video though :)

Death caller comes online at level 30, it's absolutely fine. I beat lvl 42 boss on nightmare with 31. I used ranged attack consistently since 25 lvl with frost nova + hitting weak spots. It's better in terms of survivability. Also you do not need any items to make it work, it's strong on its own.

i can confirm that the veil ranger shock/weakpoint setup does more dmg + better sustain then saboteur u do need some aim skills but perma slow/and momentum double sometimes tripple 9.9k dmg it can also 1 shots those fcking dark spawn spear guys even with full armor and 2 shots those bruisers with axes also bosses just melting. overall harder to play but high risc high reward ones u get the hang of the aiming + the holding breath and the extra dmg on in charge u need to release your aim at the right time to do the most dmg dont hold it till stage 3 just stage 1 or 2 is enough to do the double/tripple 9.9k dmg output. i just cleared my nightmare run with this build as first playthru after 62 hours that also inclu cleared every side story killed every dragon farmed every map 100%.

Sabo build, as you can see, can crit for 10k easy as well. Except meanwhile it's critting for 1k every half second passively. Also has melee, self sustain, knockback, and lots of ways to mitigate damage. Veil ranger also takes a looooooooot longer to come online. This is to go from 0 to 50 in nightmare. But it definetly is a fun build too!

Im wrecking nightmare with spellblade build. Chest that gives 5% lifesteal and 15 if enemies are bleeding is fix to all the problems. Thx to spellblade my spells cost 50 mana which you generate extremely fast so you can spam them on repeat, being immune all the time while also healing to full from all the damage you are causing.

Grab the staff from the Mourn Watch that lets you use life instead of mana to cast spells and it easily becomes the most broken build in the game. If you add the Amulet from the Crossroads Blighted Dragon that makes you treat enemies as if they're low health you can also grab the talent that makes blast abilities crit on low health enemies, and guess what, both Meteor and Void Blade are blast abilities.

There is no slayer build video at all. The slayer sucks and it is so clunky with the 2 handle weapon my first playthrough was slayer and it was so boring, secon playthrough is rouge and it feels so much better than slayer

I changed my Rook from a slayer to a reaper because I was getting frustrated and never looked back. They did 2H weapons dirty, you attack at half the speed and do basically the same damage per hit.

@@ducky36F that is so true 2h weapons were made dirty as fuck. To slow for almost the same damage as sword and shield. I beat the game as a slayer on underdog difficulty and my build was around charged attack I was hitting for 3 to 4 k dmg but it just takes so long and u have so many enemies on you. For the last fight I just started using sword and shield, I just couldn’t take the slayer any more, by far the worst specialization in the game and most boring one as well

It's really not that hard, an actual op build is really not necessary... i strated on standard, but turned everything to high after the first mission, at midgame of my !first! playthrough (i never do that), i had everything on very high except enemy health they're just too spongy... and no, i'm really not a hardcore gamer or souls like gamer...
