This is the Trunkey Road level crossing at Georges Plains, New South Wales. It is located on the Main Western Line which runs from Sydney to Bathurst and Dubbo.
These signals were installed in 2004 and replaced the original signals which dated back to 1968. Three of the signals have Western Cullen Hayes bases and Alstom LED light housings which have been retrofitted with Aldridge LED's. The fourth signal is slightly older, dating back to 1996. It is suspected to have been used as a replacement following a vehicle strike and has a pair of Western Cullen Hayes lights fitted with Aldridge LED's, mounted on a Westinghouse crossarm.
The crossing has a Westinghouse hybrid bell which replaced the previous Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell some time around 2020. The hybrid bell was recycled from the crossing at Blayney which received new signals in May 2018, the bell can be seen in this video • Level Crossing, Blayne...
Train information:
1st train: WT27 XPT service from Sydney to Dubbo.
2nd train: 2M43 empty rail train to Bathurst, with locomotive 4911.
3rd train: 8148 Fletchers freight from Dubbo to Sydney, with locomotives FIE 002 and FIE 001.
Filmed on June 27, 2022.

Great video Michael, great that they reused the Westinghouse hybrid bell from Adelaide Street, Blayney.

My local area! I do love the Westinghouse Bell in use here - it's the only one around these parts that I'm aware of (with the exception of Rydal). Most crossing around here now have e-bells; the only other ones I can think of that don't in the Lithgow - Orange section are Ash Street in Orange and Lloyds Road in South Bathurst. The daylight Fletcher's train was a regular throughout the second half of 2021 and all of 2022; it was usually a shorter one than the nocturnal Fletcher's trains, which I believe is why it used two locomotives instead of all three (FIE004 hadn't entered service just yet), and it also terminated at Enfield instead of Port Botany. The daylight run ceased in early 2023 so the Fletcher's train has become almost exclusively nocturnal again.

Cool video, the crooked bell install is interesting enough on its own but I noticed the bell is installed with the gong facing away from the road which is unusual. Wonder if there was any actual reason behind it.

Thanks! I’m guessing the position of the hybrid bell was influenced by the presence of the red background crossbuck, plus wanting the gong to face away from the road for safe access by signal maintainers.

Nice video! Nice to see that they reused another hybrid on this crossing. Also the signal that has the lights above the crossbuck looks weird, especially for a newer signal.

Nice to see the hybrid bell from Blayney being recycled here. I wonder what the old equipment looked like? Did you film the other crossing located on this road which is further up towards Bathurst?

The original signals had McK&H equipment, the other crossing on the road is at Perthville which now has new signals with a WCH e-bell.

@@McKHAust Shame the crossing at Perthville got upgraded. Must have been a fairly recent upgrade, and seemingly redundant. Have you ever filmed any of the crossings out towards Broken Hill?

@@TrickyMario7654 I think Perthville got upgraded about 2 years ago, haven't filmed anything in the Broken Hill area.

@@McKHAust I hope you eventually get around to filming crossings along the Broken Hill line. I think the old gate mechs are still there at Broken Hill. Where else have you been filming as of late?
