@@scottcannell5584 I model the 1920-1950 on the Nickel Plate, graffiti back then was not as prevalent or non existent back then. But I do admit for today’s rolling stock it is necessary. Also I am not a rivet counter, my feeling is it is your railroad, your money your time do your thing😀👍👍

7:43 The loco must have been sitting on the gate actuator, unsuccessfully tried to move forward, bringing the gates down the first time. The gates went up as it had to back up to capture the coupler slack so it could move forward again. Then gates went down again. And indeed, there's a long, heavy train trailing.

Another awesome awesome video JT and I bet those yellow flat cars that was on that southbound. I bet they’re gonna be handed over to Norfolk Southern because they are flat hauling some pipe to New Orleans right now. They have been doing it for over a month and it’s 80 foot long by 48 inches wide And they put 11 sticks of pipe per car. They pull no less than 100 car loads and up to 135 with two engines on the point and one DPU but they are bringing two loaded ones down every day and two empty ones going back north every day but they bringing them to New Orleans and handing them over to BNSF and they’re taking them into Texas where they rebuild a lot of pipelines because the pipelines is wore out they paper thin, I have some buddies of mine that’s welders over there and Texas. Looks like a spaghetti bowl with pipelines running all over and that pipe is also covered in that green paint that protects it when it’s underground but anyway, my friend you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one.

Another awesome video, JT. Those articulated cars must be the upand coming thing. Seems to be morecand more of them. Those AutoMax cars arecsomething else - another comment- I didn't realize that they are also articulated. Seeing vwhat can happen if they have to stop suddenly in regular auto stack car, that would make for a huge mess inside if an AutoMax car comes to a sudden stop.

I'm sure with the activity Trackside dine and dash took on a new meaning today. Intermodal Autos General Freight all make their presence known. The freight that sat for a while either was on its way to or from hauling military equipment with the DODX fllats and other types mixed in. Perhaps some of the storage cars we had seen on the CCET had been converted into some of the ones that were in this group. Finally snapped the heat and humidity after a week so time to enjoy things Trackside again. A fine selection of railroad "lunchables"
@KevinRichards-my5oj4 ай бұрын
That articulated flat car is a spine car. They carry semi trailers & shipping containers. Also whenever they load shipping containers on them, they don't double stack them like they do on the intermodal well cars.

Here you go Read at your leisure lol-The 86-foot high-cube boxcars were a fascinating development in rail transport. These massive boxcars, nearly as long as postwar streamlined passenger cars, stood taller than other freight cars. They were designed to efficiently carry low-density products, particularly auto body parts for the automotive industry. American Car & Foundry built the prototype in 1963, collaborating with railroads like Louisville & Nashville, Southern Pacific, and Wabash. Regular production began in 1964, with Greenville Steel Car Company, Pullman-Standard, and Thrall Car Manufacturing leading the way. These high-cube boxcars played a crucial role in moving parts from factories to automobile assembly plants, making them a unique and essential part of rail history12. If you’re interested in model railroading, you might appreciate the detailed HO scale 86-foot quad-door high-cube boxcars from Tangent Scale Models3. 🚂
