This is the Palomino Drive level crossing at Nana Glen, New South Wales. It is located between Coffs Harbour and Grafton, on the North Coast Line which connects Sydney and Brisbane.
These signals were installed on October 15, 2008. Both gated signals have Western Cullen Hayes bases, Safetran gate mechanisms, Westinghouse LED gate lights, Western Cullen Hayes lights with United Group LED's and Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bells.
The bell on the western side of the crossing rings from start up until the gates have lowered while the eastern bell rings for the entire activation. The gate-less signal on the eastern side of the crossing has a Western Cullen Hayes base and United Group LED lights.
The crossarms for the lights on both gated signals are mounted rather strangely, with the junction box facing towards the gate, I have no idea why!
The train shown in the video is 2SB3 freight from Sydney to Brisbane, with locomotives NR49 and TT111.
Filmed on September 5, 2023.
