Everything was happened because one Polish king sended Teutonic Order to Poland to fight against these guys whe doesn't believed in Christianity. They took some lands (with cities like Toruń, Gdańsk or Chełmno), and later Poles had a problem.

@@izawa9211 The Teutonic Order were brought by Konrad Mazowiecki (he was a king of Poland) in 1228 to stop the Prussian invasions of Mazovia. I think at that time Prussia was still pagan, and one of the goals of orders such as this one was to bring the population to Christianity.

German history goes back further though, If it werent for charlemange and the Saxons making peace there probably wouldve never Been a HRE and never a United concept of a German to begin with. You arent exactly wrong either since without the teutonic knight there wouldnt have been a Germanised Prussia so the course of history wouldve wildly been different but still, it begins even further back

@@Crimsrn Prussia is literally just one of the states, an important one, but for hundards of years longer literally Austria was considered the top Power, and their emporers who mostly also were those of the HRE with a few execptions also Held title of King of Germany, The hre itself is just a contiuation of East Francia, the HRE pretty much was Germany, its the "First reich" with the other two. Now direct lineage with the German empire and creation of the modern german state was through prussia and thats what this video shows, but there are other states like my own of Bavaria and we are closer to Austria in culture and history
