Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It’s capital, Budapest, is bisected by the Danube River. It’s Cityscape is studded with architectural landmarks from Buda’s medieval Castle Hill and grand neoclassical buildings along Pest’s Andrássy Avenue to the 19th-century Chain Bridge. Turkish and Roman influence on Hungarian culture includes the popularity of mineral spas, including at thermal Lake Hévíz.

No that union was in 1440-1444 when Wladyslaw III of Poland(the man who led the cavalry charge), eldest son of Jogalia was accepted as King of Hungary when the other King; Ladislaus V from the House of Habsburg was locked away in a cell by his second cousin once-removed Emperor Frederick III of the Holy Roman Empire so he could forcefully seize Austria. The union shown here in 1370 is when Casimir III died and his nephew from his sister; King Louis I of Hungary inherited the Polish throne and ruled until 1382.
@AnasSaahirHuq-or9bv2 ай бұрын
@@rohansensei5708You are mostly wrong and a bit right, the King who rushed the cavalry had ruled Poland and Hungary in 1444 during their *second* union. The first one in 1370, which he time stamped was during the reign of Louis the Great, who inherited Poland after his uncle who was the previous king died.

Great video by inspiring Hungary. As hungarian i was just wish we would stay as long we called Great Hungary. The most momorable thing in our contury when started to conquer transilyvania. THE Otomans captured us. But there's one thing that isn't stolen from us. Our firendship with Poland. Love hungary from Hungary.

Royal Hungary was just as much (actually much moreso) the continuation of Hungary as Transylvania was. Excluding it and skipping all the way to the 19th century is a bit misleading. The rest was really good though!

The Hungarian word árpa was borrowed from a Turkic language before the times of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin (at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries), from Proto-Turkic *arpa.[5][6][4] The Hungarians cohabited for centuries with Turkic people, which accounts for over 10% word roots in modern Hungarian being Turkic. In Hungarian, most pastoral terms are Turkic in origin, and agricultural terms are 50% r-Turkic. Many Hungarian names, and also animal and plant names,[7] are of Turkic origin, and the majority of tribe names were of Turkic origin.[8]Turkic is, along with Uralic, German and Slavic, one of the four languages that have the greatest percentage of word roots in the Hungarian language. However, the Magyars are not a Turkic people, though the Turks made a genetic and linguistic contribution.[9][10] The Greek cognate of "Tourkia" (Greek: Τουρκία) was used by the scholar and Byzantine Emperor Constantine VII "Porphyrogenitus" in his De Administrando Imperio of c. AD 950,[33][34] though in his use, "Turks" always referred to Magyars.[35] This was a misnomer, as while the Magyars do have some Turkic genetic and cultural influence, including their historical social structure being of Turkic origin,[36] they still are not widely considered as part of the Turkic people.[37] Hungarians did, in fact, absorb some Turkic influences during several centuries of cohabitation. The influence on Hungarians was mainly from the Turkic Oghur speakers such as Sabirs, Bulgars of Atil, Kabars and Khazars. The Oghur tribes are often connected with the Hungarians whose exoethnonym is usually derived from Onogurs (> (H)ungars), a Turkic tribal confederation.[28] The similarity between customs of Hungarians and the Chuvash people, the only surviving member of the Oghur tribes, is visible. For example, the Hungarians appear to have learned animal husbandry techniques from the Oghur speaking Chuvash people (or historically Suvar people[29]), as a high proportion of words specific to agriculture and livestock are of Chuvash origin. A strong Chuvash influence was also apparent in Hungarian burial customs. Some scholars are sceptical towards the idea that the conqueror tribes of prince Árpád spoke the ancestor of the Hungarian language, because the conquerors rather spoke a Turkic language. The historical Magyars were found to show significant affinity to modern Mansi and Khanty people, and stood also in contact with Turkic peoples (presumably Oghuric-speakers) and Slavs. The historical Magyars created an alliance of Steppe tribes, consisting of an Ugric/Magyar ruling class, Turkic/Oghuric tribes, and Slavic tribes, which conquered the Pannonian Steppe and surrounding regions, giving rise to modern Hungarians and Hungarian culture.[41] Peter B. Golden, Nomads and their neighbours in the Russian steppe: Turks, Khazars and Qipchaqs, Ashgate/Variorum, 2003. "Tenth-century Byzantine sources, speaking in cultural more than ethnic terms, acknowledged a wide zone of diffusion by referring to the Khazar lands as 'Eastern Tourkia' and Hungary as 'Western Tourkia.'" Carter Vaughn Findley, The Turks in the World History Archived 5 February 2016 at the Wayback Machine, Oxford University Press, 2005, p. 51, citing Peter B. Golden, 'Imperial Ideology and the Sources of Political Unity Amongst the Pre-Činggisid Nomads of Western Eurasia,' Archivum Eurasiae Medii Aevi 2 (1982), 37-76.
