Night is not longer on Amerish, it just appears that way because of the mountains and dynamic lighting, the sun doesn't rise high enough to light the map enough until later in the day

A few days ago I was minding my own business defending a base, destroying a few TR tanks from the east side. After that I started getting to the west side and realised something. There was like 40 Prowlers coming my way in a valley... It was quite a steamroll, but tons of fun. :3 Love the game and love your videos, Levelcap. :)

They need an urban map in PlanetSide 2 , so the whole continent is covered in buildings,industrial building, apartments, a harbor and the list goes on. Instead of having a base to capture the teams need to take and hold specific locations so that they can control the whole city (think of it in sections). For example the TR need to capture a bridge from the VS so the TR can move into the city. The warpgates are on the outskirts of the city and the only way into the city is by the bridges etc.

Yes, with the exception of Vanu full-auto weapons. Vanu snipers still have bullet drop. Oh, there's bullet lead on moving targets too.

as far as I know you dont, from what I have seen playing.. the light assault has a jet pack that you can build up to last longer.. has a burn down and builds back up after using it.. but if u jump out of a big plane (forget the name of it) that holds like 12 people.. if u dont have a jetpack and jump out of it.. it doesnt kill you.. at least it hasnt killed me before.. but if u jump off that big thing he was on at the first of this video, if your not light assault it will kill you..

On Briggs? Mine and LDS's platoon defended Esamir from the almost warpgation, then pushed out and warpgated the TR and the NC, then we moved to Amerish and conquered that :D

each base is about as big as the biggest bf3 maps, so you can imagine the WHOLE MAP or continent.. its HUGE

Amerish was the first world I ever played on and by far my favorite. Indar is owned by the damn VS and TR 24/7 and not enough people play Esimir, so Amerish is perfect for an NC like me.

The base that he is attacking in this video is bigger than Caspian Border and that is only 1 of the 6 large bases on this continent, there are many others that are smaller but vary in size.

In comparison to this game - BF3 maps are quite small. and there are many reasons 1) It gives a much more 'epic' feel of huge combat. Playing with 500 people on your team is a lot different, better than playing with 63. Also means you need better coordination 2) It has much more interesting abilities, that give it a great scifi feel. (Invis, 'healing', jetpack flying) 3) Awesome/original looking content. 4) 1v1v1 is very interesting, something very different from traditional 1v1 system

I agree that it's pretty balanced between factions when looking at skilled players, but IMO NC still requires the most skill. High damage but low RoF makes every shot count, miss and the enemy gets the upper hand. And this while having high bullet drop. TR is sort of in the middle somewhere. Atleast this is how I percieve things, but I've mostly played NC and only a few hours TR and VS, so I might be a bit biased, but VS feels so easy after coming from NC (both the magrider and the infantry)

If you have a PS3, look up MAG, you have 258 (or something like that) players on one battle. It's pretty fun, and very simaler to planitside.

Obviously graphics are up to you to decide whats better, but even with a GTX 680 and an i7 3770K you can just get 60fps on medium settings in PS2. LVL uses dual SLI GTX 570's on an i5 2500K. This means you aren't even looking at max settings, however in BF3 you will see it on ultra settings, so it will clearly look better. Bear that in mind. :)

He isn't playing it on high or max. This game is pretty darn good looking on max but very difficult to run and record on max. The scale is much larger than BF3.

Probably gonna get some hate for this, but LvL I would love to see such a good player as you play a faction that requires more skill. VS sort of feels "noob-friendly" if you know what I mean, with most of their weapons having no bullet drop etc. So a request from me would be some more TR or NC gameplay. :)

you log in to a server and start on a continent (think the last you played)..to change the map (continent) go to the "world console" by the Warpgate (mainbase) and just pick the map u want to play. and u will change it. no need to create a new charackter.

The Intel i5 makes the most sense - by far. Performance in PS2 is mostly depending on your CPU, especially in bigger battles. Its engine is DX9, that means it is not very demanding because all the new fancy things that are using a lot of processing time like DX11 tessellation are missing. An i5 beats an AMD FX by far in any game, in PS2 even more. AMD is all about a lot of cores and massive multithreading, that works fine for applications using it like encoding videos, not so much in games.

So I know Vanu weapons are supposed to not have any bullet-drop. Is this true of the snipers as well? Cause when I was playing Vanu Infiltrator yesterday, it felt like there was bullet-drop. I dunno, maybe that was just me. Anyone know for sure?

It seems to be a performance issue. I've got an AMD X6 too, my graphics card is a Radeon 6950 which should be about equally good. I can't even run the game on it's highest graphic settings (with 1080p though) without bad FPS. (Pretty much unplayable on highest settings actually). BF3 runs with 60+FPS on high though so yeah, it's a perforamnce issue of the game...

i was also wondering how soon you would be doing weapon reviews post launch,i hear there's going to be a lot of guns and from what ive seen in the beta the description of the weapons is not enough information especially when u haft to fork over certs for a gun that might not be what u were looking for

If you care about graphics they're even, but PS2 is allot more demanding, I have a 680 and a 3770k and only get 80 FPS on low and with the same setup on BF3 on ultra I get 200 FPS, I would say if you have to decide between the two its really opinion, I honestly love them both equally, they're both my favorite game at this time.

i hope they optimize this well to MAD systems also.. I get 80+ frames in BF3 high, but 15 in big battles and 30 in normal when using low settings in PS2 :(

check your drivers if you have done it then maybe your cpu is overheating when on high setting. Cpu automatic underclock itself to prevent overheat dmg..what cooling are you using? if you are using the stock fan..that might be your problem.. =)

Level, if you play with just one mate, can you stick togheter like in BF3? Can you spawn near or on each other? I have played the beta for about an hour but did not find a way. My buddy is always miles away and that kinda takes out the fun in many ways. Advice?

I agree that the lasher is crap... I have to disagree thoroughly with you though when you say the MCG and JH are extremely amazing. The MCG is fair. The JH would be good if it wasn't overshadowed by the fact that every other shotgun is just as good. Truth of the matter is, all the heavy weapons need a balancing pass, but the lasher most of all.
