Haven't played in a couple of leagues but this one looks interesting so will play. Made a bleed/poison Perfect Agony build around Puncture of Shanking that I'll be playing. Ambush/Assassinate to cover the crit chance for the first hit, then Puncture's inherent crit vs. bleeding plus other conditional crit while bleeding for subsequent hits.

For me it is opposite. Every league i have played more melee characters than ranged. Just a playstyle preference. That whetstone recipe will be your friend for first day of the league. It really helps out.

my first character was absolut unusable in maps but damn leveling with my friend was good after that reading guides and trading where normal gameplay

@@Magnadra1989 I'm not even sure if I reached red maps the 1st season 😅 but I was amazed how deep they went with the game mechanics starting with just the trinity RGB, it's genius 😊 I hope poe2 will go back a little to this relative simplicity.

@@jmizdowjr.8388 I mean you can but you won't get so far 😆 I tried making build early on but I didn't even understand the differents between more and increase DMG After that the most thing I would do was change some guids to suit my playstile You should have seen me when I frist killed the shaper I was over the moon 😀

Maybe I missed it jumping around, but I feel like for strike skills the +1 mastery and +1 glove implicit are so so important to the build not feeling terrible. Definitely a big thing I had forgotten.

Truly cursed melee tip but it's true. The Smashing Strikes passive gives 10% chance to gain an endurance charge on melee crit. It's the most reliable way to sustain endurance charges without needing to be hit, needing to block, needing to stun, needing to cycle Aspect of the Cat....etc. The location is truly cursed, but anointing is dirt cheap.

It's weird to me, a guy that always started with melee and made different builds around melee skills, how many people now need to adjust and learn how to level with melee. I'm finally the one with knowledge in my group of friends who always played spells or bow and arrow lol. It's my time to shine

Man people are going to be SHOCKED at how bad it feels if they don't pay attention to tips like these. You can be so disgustingly lazy on spell builds and it'll be a wakeup call if people try that sort of degenerate behaviour on an attack build

Bows are similar, although their are quite a few bow skills that provide flat scaling based on gem level, and it is ranged and range helps compensate. Spells, on the other hand, are all gem level scaling with weapons providing a minimal bonus while leveling. I'm still waiting on attack wands similar to rune daggers for spells.

I believe the console command is "/passives", and that will tell you all the free skill points you may have missed during the campaign.

you have to complete A10 first. once you do it will pull up the full list. Before this it will pull up the ones you have acquired.

6:45 this is a very clever way of checking the pdps. I was just thinking today about how unnecessary it was in the past for me to copy and paste an item into POB to figure it out. Ive been playing POE for quite some time now and cant believe I didnt realize there was such an easy way to check.

big note. it is possible to add on mods through essences and bench crafting that increase the level requirement, potentially pushing the item out of use. Same with the vendor recipies, although they will tell you what the minimum level is prior to clicking accept. First character, you dont have to worry about this too much as you will unlock crafts and such that are equal to your level. Second, it can happen pretty easily.

​@franciscoamaral103 The crafting bench helps cover gaps but with Alira (15%) and purity of elements (20%) basic white rings (30%) will carry through A5 pretty easily. Magic rings and passives will cover through A10. most classes have access to an easy 30% for only a couple points (shadow is the odd ball out) 2nd+ character, a gold rim will cover everything from passives. You loose a bit of damage but gain gear flexibility. For leveling, especially first character, i would argue the flexibility will help more.

Magic sash works too, and the weapon base itself determines how high % you can roll, higher ilvl sash will improve it but the weapon base determines the cap... was testing it last night

Minor correction: [magic/rare] rustic sash + whetstone + weapon does NOT need the weapon to be magic. It can be normal/white.

My greatest tip is to save items that have chaos resists! You will need them in Act 8 and then some early maps.

What would you suggest for early freeze immunity before the pantheon upgrade? I could use purity of elements but it does come at quite an opportunity cost at 50% reservation. Immunity on utility flasks feel awful since their uptime is already pretty bad. Maybe life flasks?

Yeah, flasks usually, or Purity of Elements. I'm planning on using Purity of Elements early on :) Otherwise just be okay with dying to freezes sometimes lol :D

What are you getting frozen by? Strongbox are the only thing I get frozen by in campaign and early maps and flask are fine for that. I don't even worry about it unless I'm playing HC

Sadly quality doesn't help with elemental damage on weapons. Neither does the vendor recipe for phys damage. For bow builds you usually want to level with a bow that has flat elemental damage prefixes not physical.

That is true, but do remember that the physical damage you get on weapons during the campaign is still incredibly impactful, especially if you're converting it

Yeah, good point for when your build is online and you have 200% increased elemental damage though, pops won't matter at that point.

Or you can leaguestart a necro, get carried by minions and gather leveling items etc. Then go for your melee char

You don't have to check list of quests to do. After campaign just typy: "passives" in dialogue window, and it shows achieved points, if there is less than 24 so you just need to do the rest.

It even list out the quest and says if you have the point or not so you know exactly what quest you missed /passives
