The fact you are not a good jumper is why you are the only mountain biker channel I watch who has not been seriously injured. You make it okay to ride without wrecking ourselves. Thank you.

Exactly my thoughts as well! Vast majority of mine and friends significant crashes have happened in parks or just overall higher risk situations. But hey, some people love the rush, each to his own. I’d rather bike xc all my life in nature than get sidelined with a major injury going big in a park for months.

@@emp6325 I mean there’s ways to progress safely for sure, but I’d say learning to jump gives you the bike handling skills to avoid a lot of crashes that would’ve happened otherwise

I think its because he is just more risk adverse than most others. Seeing as he does not have the "Just send it" mentality. That can be a good thing, as you said, it keeps you from killing yourself by taking chances.

I've seen Rich Drew featured on other channels, and I've got a lot of respect for his coaching style. I wish he was more accessible to me, but being in Florida he's not really nearby. And I don't do well trying to watch videos and then learning because I need that immediate feedback like what he's giving you. By the way, I really like that you have audio from multiple sources going. I think it truly adds to the quality of your videos. These are starting to feel more documentary-like. @@petedog9581 yes I am aware that over jumping is really bad in some cases. I was giving her a compliment that she is boosting the jump so much that she almost over shot the landing, hence the term landing to flat. It's not a made up term. Yes I am aware it's way bad to over shoot a landing of a drop or on a big jump but it's a good problem to have vs not clearing a double or a dirt jump or a road gap. As someone who is still working on boosting the jumps to go higher and farther, I wish I had that problem.

I feel your struggle man. The wife and I have been working on jumps for years and we still feel like passengers on our bikes. Chunk or drops are no problem, but jumps....ugh..anytime I start feeling like I'm getting it, I start casing or nosediving jumps and getting that sinking feeling with each and every jump. It's so difficult to overcome years of fighting the lip of jumps. I'm sick of getting that depressed feeling after hitting a flow trail at a bike park. I hope you eventually figure it out, then I'll know there's hope for us too. Wishing you the best of luck. 😁👍

What's kinda cool is that not only is he your coach, but that he's also your jump-psychiatrist as well. Cool take. Nice vid. Thanks!

Firstly congrats on improving. Seeing you at the start I never realized how bad you actually were at jumping. Clearly, 80% was a mental block, keep at it man you are looking way better! Love it brother

Good job, getting familiar with jumping can get frustrating at times! Before long you will look back and wonder why it was so difficult!
