Saw them in Liverpool 1991 at the uni. Got whipped in the face by some girl's dreads right at the front, we were both in front of the stage at the railings. I just strolled back stage, and up some stairs after the show while everyone else was leaving, and they were all there just hanging out. I stayed for about 45 min, listening to their stories of crazy things happening in different towns while touring. One was all about losing their weed, and then finding it on the beach a day later. The singer was wearing sunglasses as he had a stye. The fiddle player had his prize fizzle stolen on a prior gig in Liverpool, so was not fond of the place. I was 17. Amazing! One Love 💖🙏✨

They have been on main stage and head liners for many times over the years.. They moved over for new bands that have a younger following.. This is in no means saying they are forgotten. They are a great band from the time the world began to fall apart but back then we still remembered what it was like before it did.

So sad watching this, they went from playing to their usual audience to playing to blonde haired students in dungarees in the space of a few years, their faces and lack of excitemt says it all, the right band, the right song, lost on the wrong audience, this was when the Levellers lost their way, RIP Everything they stood for. xx
